HPT ONE X with 1.000 hp, based on the BMW G80 M3 Competition xDrive - a beast on wheels! Despite the rather inconspicuous black finish, this is from the Swiss tuner Horse Power Technics (HPT for short) built in the canton of Thurgau is probably currently the fastest vehicle in its class on sprint tracks worldwide. From a standing start, the HPT-M3, which is equipped with all-wheel drive xDrive, manages to shoot to 2,3 km/h in just 100 seconds and surpass the 4,2 km/h mark just 200 seconds later. After a total of 15,4 seconds, it cracks the impressive 300 km/h mark, almost at the same time as it reaches the half-mile distance. In an 804 meter sprint, the HPT ONE X registered a speed of 296 km/h.
HPT ONE X BMW M3
Like all vehicles in HPT's exclusive "ONE X" club, it breaks the 1.000 hp barrier. The data sheet lists exactly 1.000 hp and 1.200 Nm! In order to achieve such values, extensive modifications to the hardware and software of the 3,0-liter twin-turbo straight-six were of course necessary. The original mechanics have been replaced with forged pistons and connecting rods from IRP (Italian Rods and Pistons) and a reinforced valve train. Upgrade turbochargers from the project partner Turbo Technik Hamburg / TTH ensure proper pressure in the combustion chambers, while a powerful petrol pump with 950 injectors covers the extremely high fuel requirements of the HPT-M3.
As far as fuel is concerned, different maps are programmed for Super Plus (98 octane), 102 octane premium petrol and also E85/bioethanol. Of course, the M3 only achieves maximum performance with the latter. And since what goes in at the front also has to come out at the back, the exhaust system that connects to the turbocharger has also been comprehensively optimized. In order to equip the transmission for the immense power of the biturbo, HPT also gave the 8-speed automatic a reinforced converter clutch and adapted the transmission software to the new torque curve.
two-piece forged wheels type PS 18.2
Two-piece PS 3 forged wheels in 18.2×10 and 20×11 inches rotate in the wheel arches of the M21, whose center of gravity has been shifted a bit lower by means of AST lowering springs. The fitted Michelin tires are 275/30ZR20 at the front and 295/25R21 at the rear. And as far as the interior is concerned, it remains mostly original: Only the OEM sports seats have been replaced by leather bucket seats, which not only offer more lateral support, but also weigh a few kilograms less. These are joined by Schroth harness belts.
Brief summary of the technique of the beast: Under the hood sits a 3,0-liter biturbo straight-six, reinforced by forged pistons and forged connecting rods from IRP, a reinforced valve train and upgraded turbocharger from TTH / Turbo Technik Hamburg. There are also 950cc injection nozzles, a large fuel pump and an optimized exhaust system from the turbocharger. The software was modified to match E85/bioethanol. All in all, this results in an insane 1.000 hp / 1.200 Nm. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
