After the success of Toyota CH-R Hyundai also wanted to launch a striking compact SUV on the market. With the Hyundai Kona that seems to have succeeded because the little Korean is a stylish SUV flea on the slim course. The name comes from a region in Hawaii. It is the venue for the grueling Ironman triathlon and should probably point out that the Kona can withstand a lot of hardship and endurance. Considering the entry-level model Kona 1.0 T-GDI with three-cylinder petrol engine we think that is questionable. The chiptuners of speed Buster seen the small Kona therefore miss a performance advantage.
The factory 120 PS & 172 NM are increased to a stately 149 PS & 221 NM (+29 PS & 49 NM) by means of the additional control unit CTRS and thus significantly more exertion and increased endurance should be possible. In addition, SPEED-BUSTER GmbH & Co. KG also has the CT and CTR variants in its portfolio, which act as Stage 1 and Stage 2 with slightly reduced performance. If we receive timely information on performance increases for the 1.6 T-GDI, the 1.6 CRDi or maybe even the E-Kona, there is of course an update for this report.
