For some time now, Jetta has not just been a Volkswagen model name, but an independent group brand on the Chinese market, which is intended to compete successfully against the ever-increasing Chinese competition with low prices and local production. With a sedan called VA3 and currently two SUV models (VS5 & VS7), the youngest group brand from Wolfsburg has positioned itself in a manageable way. But Jetta would first like to achieve a certain volume with the models in order to expand the model range in the next step. According to media reports, the VA5, VS6 and VS8 are already in the pipeline.
Gray special edition with mods!
A special version of the mid-size SUV model VS2023, equipped with the tuner, will soon be presented at the 18 Shanghai Auto Show, which will open its doors to visitors on April 7 ABT was created. Chalk gray paintwork, tinted headlights and a glossy black honeycomb grille are the sporty insignia of the limited edition 2023 Jetta VS7. This is complemented by 18-inch turbine-design wheels with a gray finish.
In terms of chassis technology, apparently nothing has been changed so far and the ground clearance that is usual for SUV models has been retained. There is also an ABT lettering on the flanks to distinguish the special edition from the others, of which we unfortunately do not know how many copies it is limited to. A large one is also emblazoned at the rear roof spoiler, which is finished in gloss black to contrast with the chalk gray paint finish. All emblems on the car are also in gloss black.
A 1,4 liter TSI engine drives the SUV!
On the drive side, a 1,4-liter TSI engine from the VW shelf with the factory code EA288 does its job under the bow. The unit provides 150 hp and 250 Newton meters of maximum torque. The power is transmitted via a DSG gearbox exclusively to the front wheels.
