Lorinser Classic - restored Mercedes 280 GE fire department!

Now it's getting classic! Sportservice Lorinser GmbH has pictures of a partially restored Puch-Mercedes 280 GE Fire department published that we want to show you! A 55.000 euro vehicle that, as the “1983 G-Class W 460”, has only driven 18.700 kilometers. The vehicle from Lorinser Classic's inventory even had power steering installed and what was the top model at the time as the 280 GE. Under the bonnet, a six-cylinder petrol engine with an impressive 156 hp (115 kW) is propelled forward, quite befitting. In rescue operations, where every minute often counts, it is definitely the right decision. So that operations away from the paved slopes could be completed, the G had a standard connectable all-wheel drive with reduction and even two optional differential locks on the front and rear axles. The trunk is hidden behind a tailgate that opens up and down and has been upgraded to a fire-brigade-compatible storage compartment with robust checkered plate.

1965 Hose transport trailer with ring eye drawbar

Even a rigid trailer coupling is installed to be able to pull the classic hose transport trailer with ring eye drawbar from 1965. It was used for the quick and personnel-saving laying of hoses over particularly long distances. According to Managing Director Marcus Lorinser, the Feuerwehr-G is “currently in excellent technical condition” and the body and silver steel rims of the fire engine are even nicely painted. In the interior of the 280 GE there are the typical fabric seats from back then and the door panels with a check pattern are a relic from bygone days.
