Mercedes-Benz AG presents “Dolby Atmos Music”!

In the future, Mercedes-Benz AG will offer Dolby Atmos® in a number of its top models in order to provide passengers in the car with the ultimate audio experience. An outstanding experience that allows audiophile customers to enjoy the music in all its creative potential. Dolby Atmos technology is integrated into the optional Burmester® high-end 4D and 3D sound system and is initially offered in the Mercedes-Maybach and shortly afterwards in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class models, which it transforms into ultra-modern concert halls on wheels .

A total of 31 loudspeakers and eight structure-borne sound converters, so-called exciters, which are installed in the seats, allow high-end music lovers to experience an unprecedented immersive sound experience and a completely new world of sound in their vehicle. “Our customers rightly expect the highest level of musical enjoyment in a Mercedes-Benz. That is why we are one of the first luxury car brands in the world to rely on the groundbreaking Dolby Atmos technology, ”says Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG, responsible for sales. "With Dolby Atmos and the Burmester sound system, we offer our customers an outstanding music experience in the vehicle that comes very close to a live concert. The entertainment hardware of the Burmester® high-end 4D sound system installed in the Maybach and the S-Class already includes:

• 31 loudspeakers, including 6 3D loudspeakers that radiate their sound from above, 4 near-ear loudspeakers in the front seats, an 18,5 liter subwoofer
• 8 structure-borne sound converters (exciter, two per seat)
• 2 amplifier
• 1750 watts of power

Dolby Atmos adapts to any playback environment, meaning fans can hear music with unparalleled clarity that matches an artist's original vision in the studio.

The Maybach equipped with Dolby Atmos is one of the first vehicles in the world and the first model in the Mercedes-Benz AG model range to offer this superior, multidimensional sound experience. This feature ideally complements the other luxury features of the brand. Luxury has always been part of the Mercedes-Benz DNA and remains a timeless concept, also because it is constantly evolving.
