The app was specially developed for the Polestar 2 by the Norwegian Vivaldi team. It brings extensive browser functions based on Android Automotive OS to the 11-inch center display in the vehicle and works in a similar way to a mobile device *. Thanks to tabbed browsing, ie navigation via tabs, it is possible to stream, shop and surf online while complying with the highest security standards. The Vivaldi browser is designed for flexibility and has an integrated ad blocker, a privacy-friendly translation tool, a note function, tracking protection and an encrypted synchronization function. Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, CEO of Vivaldi, adds: "We are very proud to be using our browser in a car for the first time. Polestar is a very special brand for us because we pursue the same goals in terms of technology and sustainability.

We value transparency, data protection and responsible innovation. Our servers are also located in Iceland, one of the newest Polestar markets. Like Polestar, we are a Challenger brand with a Scandinavian design approach based on trust and interaction with our users.“The Vivaldi browser for the Polestar 2 is available now in all European, North American and some Asia-Pacific markets **. After the latest performance software upgrade for the Polestar 2, which was published at the end of November, Polestar is now also underlining its technological advancement in the field of infotainment. This also strengthens Polestar's position in light of the proposed business combination with Gores Guggenheim, Inc. (Nasdaq: GGPI, GGPIW and GGPIU), which is expected to close in the first half of 2022.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
