The 911E was the first Porsche officially launched in Taiwan in 1972. Fifty years later, Porsche Taiwan celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of Porsche on the island. With numerous celebrations and a unique vehicle: the 911 Carrera GTS-50 Year Anniversary One of a Kind. Taiwan was among the first Asian markets to which Porsche vehicles were exported. “In 1972, as Porsche fans and general Universal Motors importers, the Tang family fulfilled their dream and, against all odds, introduced the very first Porsche in Taiwan,” reports Christian Nater, who recently became CEO of Porsche Taiwan. “Our celebrations are also an opportunity to pay tribute to those who made those dreams come true. We are convinced that the pioneering spirit of Porsche will continue for the next 50 years. Thanks to the expansion of the dealer network, the implementation of the new retail formats and premium services, and active participation in local CSR initiatives.”

With the support of Porsche AG and specialists from Exclusive Manufaktur in Zuffenhausen, Porsche Taiwan has developed a vehicle especially for this festive occasion: The 911 Carrera GTS – 50 Year Anniversary One of a Kind. To mark the anniversary, the sports car was equipped with many unique features. The Irish green color in the exterior is symbolic of Taiwan as a subtropical island that is mostly covered with evergreen forests. The color is also a homage to the viper green 911E. It was the first Porsche sold in Taiwan in 1972.

The side skirts of the anniversary vehicle are decorated with a matt white pattern of the outline of Taiwan with the Porsche logo. It depicts the silhouette of the Formosa coast, known for its coral reefs in southern Taiwan and breathtaking scenic drives in northeastern Taiwan. The front passenger side dash trim panel features two embossings: "911 Carrera GTS" and "50 Years Porsche in Taiwan". Special features are also the Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels with central locking - painted in black with a design line in Irish green. In the interior, the aluminum door sill panels with the lettering “50 Years Porsche in Taiwan” catch the eye.

Taiwan coast special plaque

The cover of the storage compartment bears a special plaque of the Taiwan coast and the number "50". On the outside, the "Porsche" lettering in matt black was integrated into the rear light strip. The globally unique 911 Carrera GTS-50 Year Anniversary One of a Kind is to be auctioned for a good cause in the coming months. The proceeds from the campaign will go to Porsche Taiwan's charity partner, "Dream Together". With this, Porsche Taiwan wants to show its thanks to the local community and give something back to Taiwanese society.
