From the new Porsche RS 911 GT3 of the 992 series there is now a special one Edition in homage to the legendary 911RS 2.7 from 1972. However only for US customers. They have the opportunity to sell their new GT3 RS with the limited "Tribute to Carrera RS Package' from the GT Model Line and Style Porsche. Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America Inc. (PCNA) commented: “America is the second home of the 911, and a special tribute exclusive to the USA is the perfect way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 CarreraRS 2.7. Many of us adored the original 1972 car, so we want to create a special experience that combines exclusive options for the new GT3 RS with a list of accessories."
Tribute to Carrera RS Package
The "accessoriesNot all have been named, but the vehicle seen on The Quail in Monterey (California) gives a foretaste. That Tribute to Carrera RS vehicle looks like the old RS 2.7 in white and green (Pure White & Python Green) although this does not only refer to the shell. Because they too Painting from the roll cage is green that aluminum wheels and more details. There are also small ones RS logos on both sides of the XXL rear wing and the headlights come with a white pinstripe as a color accent. The details are reminiscent of the original, but more will likely be revealed soon.
4,0 liter boxer engine with 525 hp
The performance of the vehicle remains with the "Tribute to Carrera RS Package' albeit unchanged. In view of the 4,0-liter boxer engine with 525 hp and double-clutch PDK transmission, that's certainly not a bad thing. How many vehicles with "Tribute to Carrera RS Package“ will be built and what they will cost is not yet known.
