Those responsible for the project at Porsche Motorsport asked the specialists at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur to make a subsequent special request for a factory conversion - a 911 GT3 road version based on the 911 GT3 Cup in the anniversary design. For 30 years, the Porsche Supercup has been one of the best-known and toughest customer racing series in the world. Being on the road with the new 1 GT911 Cup in the support program for Formula 3 on legendary circuits such as Monte Carlo or Silverstone is the dream of many motorsport enthusiasts. For the anniversary, the makers of the one-make cup have now fulfilled a special wish themselves.

Road version in anniversary design

As part of the new special request program, the one-off was realized within half a year. At Porsche, projects that follow the re-commissioning approach in the vehicle refinement scene are referred to as "special request factory conversions" - i.e. the technical revision of a vehicle from driving operations with simultaneous redesign of the exterior and interior color concept to new vehicle level. One of the highlights is the spectacular eight-color design paintwork with the anniversary logo and a multicolored pixel network that wraps around the rear wheel arches, among other things. In addition, the names of all previous 29 Porsche Supercup champions were immortalized in gold on the rear bumper.

"Every special request vehicle project is something very special - not only for the customer, but also for us", says Alexander Fabig, Head of Individualization and Classic at Porsche. "A new project means new challenges, and we always learn something new. That also applies to this 911 GT3 – 30 years of the Porsche Supercup."

A tight schedule, high technical standards and a great team spirit that ultimately leads to the finish – I only know that from motorsport. Working together with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur on this factory conversion was a great experience,” says Oliver Schwab, Project Manager of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. “And the 911 GT3 – 30 years of the Porsche Supercup is a worthy ambassador in our anniversary year. The Porsche Supercup has written racing history and is still doing so. We say 'Happy Birthday' and look forward to many more years of racing on the world's most famous racetracks.”

Initially, the one-off will be on display as part of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race. Appearances in the Porsche Museum and in the CityLife Showroom in Milan are expected to follow from late summer, both together with the 911 GT3 Cup VIP racing car. This model is a key element in the communication of the Porsche Supercup. A well-known personality is on the road as a guest starter every season. Former champions will also take trips in the special request 911 GT3 and talk about their successes and their highlights.

Tailor-made conversions to the exterior and interior

The basis for the special request factory conversion was an already finished Porsche 911 GT3 from driving operations, i.e. the street version of the racing vehicle used in the Porsche Supercup. In a process lasting several weeks, the vehicle was dismantled into its components in order to obtain its special design. The 911 GT3 - 30 years Porsche Supercup is painted in several colors. Not a single detail on the vehicle is wrapped. The eight colors in all – GT silver metallic, agate gray metallic, high-gloss black, meteor gray metallic, parliament gray metallic, volcano gray metallic, grigiogranito metallic and diamond black metallic are all painted, as are the gold-colored names of the Supercup winners.

The greatest challenge in the painting process was to apply the multicolored pixel network precisely to several areas of the dynamically shaped body. The pattern inspired by the VIP racing car can be found behind the air outlets in the front hood, behind the front wheels and on the rear wheel arches. The anniversary logos are on the doors and on the bonnet with a large golden "30". In addition, the names of all 29 previous Porsche Supercup champions were painted gold and sealed with a high-gloss clear coat. After the painting work, the vehicle was reassembled by hand in the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and refined with further special requests.

dreamlike unique interior

The seats are the absolute eye-catchers in the interior. The leather seats are something very special thanks to the embossed anniversary logo on the headrests, a unique Sport Tex color variant in black/aurum for the center sections and colour-coordinated piping in mojave beige. The cuboid pattern in black/aurum is also used on the armrests in the doors. The trim panel of the dash panel also bears the anniversary logo. The upper part of the dashboard, the door panels and the side panels have been customized with cross stitching in mojave beige.
