With the new 911 Sport Classic, Porsche is presenting the second of a total of four collector's items from the Heritage Design Strategy. The small series from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, limited to 1.250 units, revives the style of the 60s and early 70s. Like its immediate predecessor, the 2009 Sport Classic based on the 911 presented in 997, this vehicle is visually inspired by the original 911 (1964 – 1973) and also the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (1972). The new 911 Sport Classic can be ordered now at prices starting at 272.714 euros. It will be available to European dealers from July 2022, with other markets to follow.

"The Heritage Design models stand for the particularly emotional concepts of the Porsche product strategy," says Alexander Fabig, Head of Individualization and Classic. With this extraordinary approach, the 'Style Porsche' design department, together with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, reinterprets iconic 911 models and equipment from the 1950s to 1980s and picks up design features again.” Porsche will produce a total of four small series at different times and in limited quantities hang up.
The first own model of the series was the 2020 Targa 911S Heritage Design Edition presented in 4 in the style of the 50s and 60s. Porsche Design has designed a high-quality chronograph exclusively for buyers of the collector's item. With numerous details, this visually connects seamlessly to the new 911 Sport Classic. As part of the Heritage Design Package Classic², selected interior elements of the new 911 Sport Classic will also be available for most current 911 models.
Historical design elements, reinterpreted
With the wide body otherwise reserved for the 911 Turbo models, the fixed rear spoiler in the legendary "ducktail" design and the double dome roof, the new 911 Sport Classic underscores its exceptional position. As with the first 911 Sport Classic (Type 997) from 2009, the designers were inspired by the fashionable gray of the early Porsche 356 for the exclusive paintwork of the small series.
"The new 911 Sport Classic heralds the age of the sport gray metallic," says Michael Mauer, Head of Style at Porsche. "Gray is never boring, it makes a statement very often and it's always cool." As an alternative to the exclusive sport gray metallic, the new 911 Sport Classic is also available in black, agate gray metallic, gentian blue metallic or a color of your choice³. Painted double stripes on the front hood, roof and rear spoiler in light sport gray underline the sporty look. In the interior, the iconic Pepita fabric pattern adorns the door mirrors and the center sections of the seats. The two-tone semi-aniline leather interior in black/classic cognac provides an elegant contrast to the exterior.
Currently the most powerful manual 550 with XNUMX hp
The drive concept is also unique: the 3,7 liter six-cylinder biturbo boxer engine transmits its output of 405 kW (550 hp) to the road exclusively via the rear wheels. In combination with the seven-speed manual transmission, the new 911 Sport Classic is currently the most powerful manual 911. The transmission has an auto-blip function, which compensates for speed differences between the gears with targeted double-declutching bursts when downshifting. The standard sports exhaust system is specially tailored to the model and for an even more emotional sound experience. Derived from the 911 Turbo and XNUMX GTS, the chassis meets high performance standards: thanks to standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the dampers react to dynamic changes in a flash. PASM is combined with the sports suspension and ten millimeter lowering as standard.
