With 660 hp, but not with us: the Porsche Cayenne GT Facelift!

One thing in advance, the Porsche Cayenne GT facelift will get a powerful 660 hp, but will probably only be offered in China and the USA. We will not be offering an upgrade to Euro 7. But for all other engines. Porsche is fundamentally renewing the third generation of the Cayenne (PO536 / 9YA) with far-reaching measures in terms of drive, chassis, design and equipment. The bandwidth between on- and off-road performance on the one hand and luxurious everyday comfort on the other is thus even greater. Porsche has consistently further developed its successful luxury SUV: The new Cayenne makes its debut with a highly digitized display and operating concept, new chassis technology and innovative technology features. "It is one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of Porsche," says Michael Schätzle, head of the Cayenne series.

Fine-resolution HD matrix LED main headlights ensure road illumination tailored to every driving situation, an air quality system filters pollutants from the air in the interior, and for the first time in the Cayenne, the front passenger has his own infotainment display - including for video streaming during the ride. With its extensively refined design and more powerful engines, the Cayenne underlines its claim as a sports car in its segment.

Digitized and driver-focused: Porsche Driver Experience

Porsche has integrated a fundamentally revised display and operating concept into the new one Cayenne. The new Porsche Driver Experience, introduced for the first time in the Porsche Taycan, focuses on the driver's axis and optimizes operation. Functions that the driver uses frequently are located directly on or immediately next to the steering wheel.

The driving assistance lever on the left behind the steering wheel now has additional functions for operating the assistance systems. For the first time, the automatic selector lever is on the dashboard in the new Cayenne. This creates space on the new center console for storage and for a large climate control surface in a high-quality black panel design. Large, easily accessible controls, in combination with mechanical climate rockers and a haptic volume control, ensure optimal usability and a noble appearance.

For the first time, the newly designed cockpit of the Cayenne includes a fully digital 12,6-inch instrument cluster with a curved design and variable display options. An optimized head-up display optionally supplements the display. The standard 12,3-inch central display of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is integrated harmoniously into the new dashboard and offers access to all relevant vehicle functions. Native apps like Spotify® and Apple Music® optimize networking in the new Cayenne.

A 10,9-inch display is available on the passenger side for the first time. It enriches the driving experience for the front passenger with the display of performance data, separate access to the operation of the infotainment system and, depending on the market, with the option of streaming video content while driving. A special foil ensures that the driver cannot see this display.

Refined design, innovative lighting technology

The appearance of the new Cayenne is given a particularly expressive and athletic expression. A new front end, in conjunction with more arched fenders and a new bonnet, as well as headlights with a technical look, emphasize the width of the vehicle. The rear of the new Cayenne is characterized by three-dimensional taillights, clean surfaces and a new lower rear section with an integrated license plate holder. An extended range of colors with three new colors, lightweight sports packages with weight savings of up to 33 kilograms for the Cayenne Coupé and an extensive range of wheels with options in 20, 21 and 22 inches allow the new Cayenne to be designed in a particularly individual and sporty way.

Matrix LED main headlights are standard in the new Cayenne. The optional HD matrix LED headlights are new to the range. Its innovative technology, with two high-resolution modules and more than 32.000 pixels per headlight, ensures that other road users are masked out quickly, precisely and with pixel precision, and thus for glare-free high beams. Depending on the driving situation, the brightness of the modules can be regulated in more than 1.000 levels. Tailored light modes increase safety and comfort in different driving situations.

In addition, Porsche is introducing an air quality system in the new Cayenne. As standard, the vehicle uses the predictive navigation data to recognize approaching tunnel entrances and automatically activates the air recirculation function. Optionally, a sensor detects the pollution of the breathing air with fine dust particles and, if necessary, activates a multiple flow through the fine dust filter. Furthermore, an ionizer frees the breathing air from many germs and pollutants, which relieves allergy sufferers in particular. With 660 hp, but not with us: the Porsche Cayenne GT Facelift! In addition, customers have a comprehensive range of new and optimized assistance systems at their disposal. These include the active speed limit assistant as well as the avoidance assistant, the turning assistant and the improved Porsche InnoDrive as part of the adaptive cruise control. As a result, the new Cayenne supports its driver even better in hazardous situations and in traffic jams on motorways and roads similar to motorways.

Increased bandwidth between travel comfort and performance

Porsche now equips the Cayenne with one ex works steel spring chassis including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). New shock absorbers with 2-valve technology and separate rebound and compression stage enable optimized performance in all driving situations. Above all, the comfort when driving slowly, the handling when cornering dynamically and the pitch and roll control have been noticeably improved.

In addition, the driving experience can be enhanced with the new adaptive air suspension with 2-chamber 2-valve technology. It improves the driving experience with a soft damping characteristic, calms the structure and simplifies handling on and off-road - both in comparison to the standard chassis and the previous model. At the same time, the adaptive air suspension improves driving precision and performance and reduces body movements in dynamic driving situations. The chassis also offers an even more striking differentiation between the Normal, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.

Hybrid model with more power and an electric range of up to 90 kilometers

The new Cayenne is making its debut in Europe with three different engines. An extensive further development of the four-liter V8 biturbo engine developed by Porsche replaces the previously used V6 unit in the new Cayenne S. With a maximum output of 349 KW (474 hp; Cayenne S: combined fuel consumption* (WLTP) 13,4 – 12,4 l/100 km, combined CO₂ emissions* (WLTP) 303 – 282 g/km) and a torque of 600 Nm – an increase of 25 kW (34 hp) and 50 Nm compared to the predecessor – it accelerates the SUV and SUV coupé to 4,7 km/h in 100 seconds. The top speed is 273 km/h. An optimized three-liter V6 turbo engine accompanies the entry into the world of the Cayenne. It now delivers 260 kW (353 hp) and 500 Nm, i.e. 10 kW (13 hp) and 50 Nm more than before.

In addition, the six-cylinder engine forms the basis for the powertrain of the Cayenne E-Hybrid. In combination with a new electric motor that has been boosted by 30 kW to 130 kW (176 hp), its system output increases to 346 kW (470 hp, Cayenne E-Hybrid: combined fuel consumption* (WLTP) 1,8 – 1,5 l/100 km , CO₂ emissions* combined (WLTP) 42 – 33 g/km, power consumption* combined (WLTP) 30,8 – 28,7 kWh/100 km, electric range* combined (WLTP) 66 – 74 km, electric range* in urban areas (WLTP) 77-90 km).

Equipped with a high-voltage battery with an increased capacity from 17,9 kWh to 25,9 kWh compared to the predecessor, purely electric ranges of up to 90 kilometers according to WLTP are now possible, depending on the equipment. A new 11 kW onboard charger now reduces the charging time to less than two and a half hours using an appropriate power source, despite the larger capacity of the battery. While driving, the optimized E-Hybrid driving modes increase the efficiency of the vehicle.
