The Supra is a legendary sports coupe that returned to the market in 21 after a 2019-year hiatus. The new generation (A90) is based on a common platform with the BMW Z4 and also uses its engine and transmission. But how does the Supra compare to its German brother and other competitors? We looked at some online reviews to get an idea of the opinions of drivers and testers. Almost everyone finds one thing cool: the Supra is an eye-catcher short overhangs, wide track and muscular shapes that attract attention. The body is equipped with many air inlets and outlets, some of which are just dummies. Apparently many users (like us) can't understand this!
Reviews of the Toyota Supra
The design is polarizing, but many find it successful and in keeping with the character. The Matte Moonstone White paint is exclusive to the manual transmission version, which has been available since 2022 and is popular in the community. You can clearly see the BMW genes in the interior, as many switches, buttons and displays come directly from the Z4. But users always seem to be bothered by this.
Yes, that's not necessarily a bad thing, because... application is pretty unanimous as “high-quality“ to look at and the “Ergonomics" also true. However, it is still missing autonomy and emotionality. The sports seats are comfortable and offer good lateral support, there is enough space for two people, the trunk is not huge at 290 liters, but it is practical to use. Hardly anyone complains about that!
The majority love the BMW B58 six-cylinder
Under the long hood is a three-liter in-line six-cylinder engine with a turbocharger that comes from BMW but was adapted by Toyota. At least he performs 340 PS & 500 Nm Torque that exceeds a Eight-speed automatic or a Six-speed manual be sent to the rear wheels. The reports on the Toyota Supra are largely very positive.
According to the internet, almost everyone thinks it's really cool! And the automatic shifts quickly and smoothly, but the manual transmission sometimes seems to require significantly more effort, but offers more driving pleasure. The Supra sprints from 4,3 to 4,6 km/h in 0 seconds (automatic) or 100 seconds (switch) and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
the chassis is convincing
According to users, the suspension of the Supra is very sporty, but still not too hard. The steering is direct and precise, the brakes stable and easy to dose. The Supra is a lot of fun on winding roads because it is agile, stable and neutral. According to users, the rear-wheel drive provides surprisingly good traction and allows drifts if you switch off the ESP. The sound of the engine is powerful and sonorous, but according to opinions online, it is way too loud emotionless and quiet. Most reviews praise the Supra for its performancewhich handling and Appearance. They occasionally criticize the limited rear visibility, difficult entry and exit, and lack of manual transmissions in the early model years.
Some also criticize the strong reference to BMW and wish for it much more independence. It is clear that the Supra is not a pure sports car, but rather a sporty one Gran Turismo Coupe, which is also suitable for everyday use. It has a large online fan base who see it as a worthy successor to the old generations, even without a Toyota engine. It is also often paired with other sports coupes like the Nissan z or the Porsche Cayman compared, and for the most part it performed well. The Supra is, however not a cheap car, because depending on the equipment it costs between 55.000 and 65.000 Euro. That is also a point of criticism!

Thank you for this contribution. I've been interested in vehicles like this for a long time. I always find it fascinating what different manufacturers think about to achieve a certain driving speed. In particular the factor that many parts for the gearbox usually have to be made specially. Really exciting!
