Two vehicles can be more different for a Vquarter mile race probably not be. A Lamborghini Huracan Performante with V10 and all-wheel drive from Sant'Agata Bolognese competes against a fully electrically powered Tesla Model S Performance. At 1.555 kilograms, the Italian exotic is significantly lighter than the 2.241-kilogram full-size sedan from Fremont. There is agreement, however, with the seven-speed DCT dual clutch transmission, but that the Stromer “only” enables a top speed of 261 km / h. The Huracan Performante, on the other hand, is allowed to run 325 kilometers per hour. But in "cheetah" mode (Cheetah mode) the Model S should accelerate approx. 0,2 seconds faster than the Lambo.
Huracan Performante vs. Model S performance
With a torque from the first second of 1.300 Nm compared to 600 Nm in the Lamborghini, that seems plausible. The sticky tires of the Huracan Performante are probably of little use. And what about the negative acceleration? Can the Lambo beat the Model S with the carbon-ceramic brake system? Watch the video. PS. This will come in about 1 year Model S as variant "Plaid" in the trade. Then a top speed of 200 miles per hour (approx. 320 km / h) should be possible and the sprint to 100 km / h should be done in under (!!!) 2 seconds.
