Did you know that the current edition of the VW Golf R is based on the current VW Golf VII and that it premiered at the IAA 2013? The fourth "R generation" is powered by the turbocharged, 221 kW (300 PS) inline four-cylinder, which is offered either with a six-speed manual gearbox or a DCT with 6 stages. The in-house 4Motion all-wheel drive system is available ex works in the Golf R, which ensures that not only the front wheels have to bring the power to the road. On the website of TVW CAR DESIGN we discovered a modified Golf 7 R that was visually discreetly changed and received a few accessories that, among other things, ensure an increase in performance.
⚠ Intercooler & sports exhaust system⚠
Let's start with the changes to the chassis. Here TVW installed a KW suspension DDC P&P coilover kit and also a few ST suspension spacers which, in combination, ensure that the original Pretoria alloy rims sit perfectly in the wheel arch and the driving behavior is improved. And the MK7 has also been optimized in terms of performance, a BN-Pipes complete system with 200 cell downpipe and flap control as well as a Wagner tuning intercooler was installed. Apart from the details just mentioned, nothing else seems to have been changed on the Golf R so we leave you alone with the pictures at this point. 🙂 But if we do get some information about important changes, there is of course an update for this post.
