Lead Golf! +2.100 PS VW Golf III dragster monster street legal!

Almost every car and tuning fan knows the whole racing car of the dragster series. These were specially designed to accelerate as quickly as possible, and the distance of 402 meters, what exactly one quarter mile corresponds to tackle as quickly as possible. Invented in the USA, motorsport has been enjoying increasing popularity in Germany and Europe for some time, and competitions are held at various tuning shows. But let's come back to the USA, where we tracked down what is probably the most powerful VW Golf in the world for you. This belongs to the tuner Bruce Morehouse, and overshadows everything that was previously known from a vehicle with a Volkswagen emblem. And we already know the Wolfsburg. Because in 2019 it already attracted attention with an output of over 1.600 hp. But a lot has happened since then. So we would now like to introduce the Golf to you in more detail.

Only the silhouette is reminiscent of the golf!

The bright green dragster makes for astonished looks from unsuspecting road users. With his Fiberglass body kitwhich fender flares, a completely new one front bumper and a Custom bonnet with a scoop, it is much sportier than a conventionally tuned three-way Golf. The fiberglass parts also save a lot of weight. There are also two different ones Wheel / tire combinationsone for the street and the other for the quarter mile.

In road traffic, tuner Bruce uses three-part 17 incher from CCW Classic, to the Toyo Proxes 888R tires in the 275/40 ZR 17 format at the front, and tires of the same model in the 315/35 ZR17 format. Mind you on a Golf! For competitions will be smaller 15 incher raised, which with Micky Thompson slicks are combined. The complete Chassis is a special product and has about an adjustable coilover from Koni with Eibach springs and adjustable ones Lintel dome bearing. Very special highlights are the Bremsfallschirmnormally only known from high-performance dragsters, plus two hydraulic hand brakes with Hurst's drift mode, which affects both the front and rear wheels.

The toned Hella rear lights in the 90s style and the Golf IV front have almost become a minor matter. Last but not least, that was VW emblem Removed on the grille, and it was self-designed "VR12" lettering attached to the side skirts. In addition, are located on the entire vehicle slices made of ultra-light Polycarbonate. Now you can already guess which monster we are dealing with here!

Completely stripped racing interior!

Im complete empty interior the pilot can concentrate on the essentials, namely driving. Take care of that Momo sports steering wheel and shift paddles from a Mitsubishi Evo X. This is a monoposto, because only one Sport seat by Kirkey, who also has a G-Force Racing harness belt is located in the extraordinary VW. There is also a Central display, which is in the driver's eye, and various buttons for the vote. We seriously ask ourselves whether you can still drive it in everyday life, even if the Golf is one street legal owns!

Two VR6 engines with modifications!

You read that right! This golf is made of two VR6 engines, which are each turbo-charged, fired. The first engine sits conventionally in the bow, while the second engine rages behind the driver's seat. 2,8 liter displacement owns every single unit, and together the engines do crazy things + 2.100 PS. This makes this Golf the most powerful vehicle in the world that uses a VW as its base and that we know.

The power transmission takes place via a sequential Six speed transmission on all four wheels. We don't know anything about the performance on the road, but tuner Bruce Morehouse is aiming for one Quarter mile time of a smooth 8 seconds on. To make this clear, you have to know that a standard Bugatti Chiron needed about 9,3 seconds for the distance!

Our conclusion to the VW Golf III:

Just amazing what crazy projects you find. We are amazed and wish tuner Bruce Morehouse that he manages to break the 8-second mark with the Golf on the drag strip. Incidentally, the record for a VW is held by the German tuner and YouTuber "Boba“, Who also drove a VW Golf into the asphalt for a time of 8,13 seconds. We have added a picture gallery of the car at the end of the article. If we get more information about the changes, there will of course be an update for this report.
