Volkswagen of America, Inc. unveiled the Jetta GLI Performance Concept at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The performance concept was exhibited along with eight other vehicles. As a homage to the many years in the VW model range, the "GTI with trunk" was equipped with some features from the USA history of the GLI. The GLI Performance concept is based on a 2022 Jetta GLI (MK7) with a six-speed manual transmission and it has 0,8 inches (approx. 2 cm) wider fenders installed front and rear. At the front and rear, the fenders have large air vents and the motorsport-inspired extensions are connected in profile by larger side skirts. The front apron has a large grille, and in the back there was a sporty one rear apron and twin rear silencers on both sides.

The body is finished with a custom matte black finish foiling in a hexagon design that fades into the factory color Kings Red Metallic. Under the hood, RacingLine's EA88 Gen 3 engine got an IS38Turbokit donated and one R600 carbon cold air intake and a high-performance intercooler. There is also a new oil management kit and a special one Oil Coolerto support the thermal management of the engine oil.

Power is sent to the front wheels via the factory six-speed gearbox, coupled with an improved performance clutch pack. After all, around 355 PS & 504 NM are now pushing the GLI performance concept forward. Incidentally, the load is braked by means of a Stage 3+ six-pistonForged brake system (BBK) with carbon-ceramic discs in the format 15,0 inches (approx. 38 cm) and the chassis is of course new.

The project is optically rounded off with a set of Rotiform Forged "GRZ" monobloc rims in 20 inches with specially made AERODISC covers, which are equipped with RacingLine Studs– and nut conversion kit are screwed. And inside? Two classic Recaro Pole Position ABESeats with integrated headrests, which are provided with a tailor-made upholstery in the Texagon design.
