Widebody Mercedes-Benz CLS (C 257) from Prior Design!

Hard to believe, but the CLS series from Mercedes-Benz is now in its third generation. After the C 219 (2004–2010) and the 218 series (2011–2018), the C 257 generation (since 2018) is now at the start. It is also based on the platform of the E-Class, but has many features and motors of the S-Class. Visually, the loosely made business class as an E-Class is completely convincing for fair-minded people, as we find. A moving designer piece with clear and straightforward lines. In particular, the bow with its shark nose is a success, and the clearly structured, elegant stern and the typically low roof line of the CLS are also included. But the current generation has to accept a drop of bitterness. And this looks pretty heavy! There will be no CLS Shootings Brake from the current model.

There is now a really fat version of the German tuner PRIOR Design from Kamp-Lintfort. And the kit already has something of a tradition. After all, the tuner also has that C 219 and 218er widened. And now it's generation 3's turn. Prior recently presented the so-called "PD Widebody Aero Kit" for the CLS. And the changes are once again extremely good for the luxury liner. The components are made of a fiberglass-Dura-Flex mixture and ensure optical changes in exactly the right positions. The black photo vehicle had a completely new front apron with a typical AMG look and an additional spoiler lip. In addition, of course, a Panamericana grille (does not belong to the body kit) and a black Prior emblem on the bonnet.

The highlight, of course, is the built-in 12-part front and rear extensions. They even expand some of the doors in the rear area and give the body a significantly more powerful look overall. And of course, a completely new rear apron with AMG look and an aggressive rear diffuser on the CLS was not missing. It impressively rounds off the visual changes to the body and perfectly stages the CLS with optional tailpipes in an AMG look. In any case, in combination with the PD widebody aero kit, a new wheel set must also find its way into the widened wheel arches. The filigree Prior Design PD4Forged rim with a classic silver surface in 22 inches with slippers in the 245/30 ZR22 and 285/25 ZR22 format is therefore installed on the current vehicle.

with H&R sports suspension

In combination with a subtle lowering by means of H&R sports suspension the wheel set sits absolutely precisely and flush with the wheel arch edges in the wheel arch. The third generation of the CLS is once again an outstanding designer piece from Mercedes-Benz, and the third generation of the Prior Design body kit also optimizes the Schönling in exactly the right positions as we find it. Prior Design incidentally states that the PD widebody aero kit is suitable for all Mercedes CLS W257 / C257 models.
