800 PS & widebody kit on the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)!

Has anyone actually converted a real R34 Skyline GT-R (BNR34) into a widebody GT-R? Jupp! And that was also a good decision. Of course, a large proportion of diehard fans will consider this to be an absolute no-go, but on the other hand, an equally large proportion will also support the conversion. We belong to the latter because the result is extremely impressive as we think. Anwar (Owner) rebuilt this BNR34 GT-R in South Africa where he lives and specifically it is a 2001 model of the variant Vspec II, And the most striking feature is the body kit already mentioned. It comes from the house Sun Line Racing and significantly broadens the GTR. The kit includes new front fenders, there are widened rear fenders and the powerful side skirts are also part of the kit. The kit is made of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) manufactured and widened the body by 30 mm per side. There is also a modified apron at the front and rear, sporty carbon canards and the bonnet is completely different.

Quick release fasteners & NACA air vents

It shows itself with quick-release fasteners and NACA carbon air openings and provides the engine with the necessary fresh air. And the rear has changed no less, which in addition to the apron already mentioned has also been given small carbon canards and a fixed carbon rear wing. In addition, an aggressive rear diffuser adorns the rear view and even the rear lights are new. The optically classic version is still installed, but the rear lights now have modern LED technology. And of course no original rims turn in the widened wheel arches. Anwar relies on lightweight RAYS Volk Racing CE28 motorsport rims in 18 x 10,5 inch format and with 285 / 35R18 rubbers, including a threaded coilover with EDFC option, to make contact with the road.

8 pistons on the front axle

They are painted in satin black and allow a generous view of the modified sports brake system. Here is a system of Vari Racing installed with powerful 8 pistons on the front axle, including slotted discs, as well as 6 pistons at the rear for a species-appropriate deceleration. And that is sorely needed. After all, the RB26DETT six-cylinder (N1 block) performs thanks to the BiTurbo conversion using a Garrett GT2871 charger, a Autobahn88 intercooler and other amenities such as the HKS 2,8 liter kit with forged pistons & connecting rods, HKS cams with adjustable gears or the Tomei head gasket an impressive 800 hp if it receives high-octane fuel with an admixture of ethanol. The fuel is cooled by the Evolve Aluminum Race cooler before it reaches the enlarged injection nozzles. The result flows into a Tomei Expreme Ti titanium exhaust system that not only looks great, but also sounds breathtaking.

Incidentally, the Haltech Platinum Pro control unit used can be configured individually and can also be used for higher performance values. But in order for the GT-R to remain drivable, the decision was made to use the 800 PS configuration, which, thanks to Getrag's 6-speed manual transmission, distributes the power to all four wheels via an OS Giken triple clutch and a new flywheel as well as a Nismo limited slip differential. And a lot has happened in the cabin of the GT-R too. The main features here are a Momo Competition sports steering wheel quick release, there was a top secretshift knob and also a 4 point CuscoRoll cage can be seen. Important details like the instrument cluster from Nismo (shows 320 km / h and 11.000 rpm), the Zeitronix ethanol display, the HKS EVC boost controller or the line damper controller for the chassis enable the driver to read and adjust all the important details.
