crooked thing? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! Carbon manifold protection & heat shield!

A look at the new Wunderlich manifold protection and heat shield for the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250. The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is known for its distinctive design. And the path of the rear cylinder manifold is particularly striking here: an impressive, curved line that meanders through the bike. In order to protect this special section of the motorcycle while emphasizing the design, Wunderlich has one Manifold protection and heat shield developed, which scores in terms of both design and functionality.

 Manifold Protection & Heat Shield

The protection is genuine Carbon manufactured and is of the highest quality. The heat protection follows the organic shape of the manifold and blends seamlessly into the side flyline the Pan America one. For the production of the carbon heat shield, Wunderlich worked together with Ilmberger, a well-known carbon specialist. The protection fulfills not only aesthetic but also important functional tasks:

  • High quality protection: The carbon heat shield serves as thermal and mechanical protection. It reliably shields the radiant heat from the rear cylinder manifold and prevents direct contact between the lower leg and the hot manifold. This means less risk of burn injuries and damage to protective clothing due to thermal influences.
  • Design: Designed in the carbon adventure look, the heat protection follows the course of the manifold, resulting in a harmonious overall picture.
  • Easy construction: Wunderlich uses the motorcycle's original screw-on points to attach the heat shield. An enclosed assembly kit makes installation extremely easy.
  • Material / fabric: High-quality carbon, carefully and exclusively manufactured by Ilmberger, with an additional protective coating. Interested parties can find further details on this in the “Good to know” box.
  • Color: The carbon structure remains visible and underlines the noble character of the protection.

In conclusion, one can say that the new manifold protection and heat shield from Wunderlich is anything but a "crooked thing". It is a successful combination of functionality and design that does justice to the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250. Photo credit: Wunderlich
