The Wunderlich heat shield is here and it has a mission: It should save our cooling water hose and thus increase the performance of our beloved Harley-Davidson Pan America. With its thermal shielding, the sheet metal protects the cooling water hose from the heat radiation of the exhaust manifold of the front cylinder. It reduces the risk of the cooling water heating up or even overheating due to the radiant heat of the manifold, a well-known characteristic of American adventure bikes. The installation of the Wunderlich heat shield is very easy. Equipped with an insulating heat protection tape, it is simply screwed to a bracket for the cooler. The mudguard completely encloses the hose on the side facing the manifold and has a heat-reflecting effect.

The thermal load on the radiator hose is reduced and the associated material stress is minimised. This means that the water that has just been cooled is not heated up unnecessarily, especially over long distances on the motorway and in high mountains, situations in which the engine can quickly overheat. The Wunderlich heat shield ensures thermal shielding of the cooling water hose and minimizes the risk of the cooling water overheating. At the same time, the cooling water hose is protected. The Wunderlich heat shield thus preserves the efficiency of our cooling system and ensures that we can enjoy the freedom on two wheels without any worries.
