In the United States, the launch of a electric tricycle shortly before. The X-Oto, which at first glance looks like an ordinary scooter front-wheel drive. Behind the X-Oto is the Californian start-up of the same name, that of industrial designer Tim Huntzinger was launched. His goal was to make motorcycling safer without sacrificing driving pleasure. The answer to that was the electric Tricycle X-Oto. Despite the resemblance to a conventional e-scooter, the manufacturer has incorporated one into the unique vehicle 4 kW hub motor on the front axle and the patented one Tilting technology on the rear axle installed. This is how the X-Oto up to 45 degrees in curves and still maintains high stability and road grip thanks to the two rear wheels.

Another advantage of the three wheels: Despite the power and a Top speed of 70 km / h can the X-Oto with a normal driver's license be driven. The X-Oto (pronounced Ex-oto) draws its energy from two removable batteries with a total capacity of 4,3 kWh. According to the manufacturer, this should be a range of about 145 km enough. And thanks to their removable nature, the batteries can also be charged at home or in the office. This means that the X-Oto is also interesting for buyers without a garage or external socket. With a planned sales price of the equivalent of approx 6.700 EUR is the limited first editionFounders Edition“ of the X-Oto but more expensive than comparable e-scooters. However, the three wheels allow a safe cornering and more stability. Deliveries in the US are scheduled to begin this summer.
