In May, Continental held its 45th TuningTag, with the main attraction being electric vehicles. Numerous tuners took part in the event and were able to prove that high performance and electric drives are compatible. Companies such as Brabus, delta4x4, Giacuzzo, HGP, Heico Sportiv, Hess and Musketier presented their tuning creations to the enthusiastic partners and guests of AutoBild sportscars at various driving and test stations. Among the vehicles that cruised the Contidrom proving ground were a Tesla 4×4, an Audi RS e-tron GT, a Mercedes EQS, and a Kia ev6 GT, all fitted with Continental tires. And there was a choice of tire models: the SportContact 7, the EcoContact 6 and the CrossContact ATR were all used. According to the Continental employees, all three models should enable maximum safety and low energy consumption. "Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly important in the industry", explains Michel Schneider, head of tuning at Continental.

"Because tuning is not dependent on the type of drive, but reflects the enthusiasm for individualization' adds Schneider. "However, it is undeniable that performance is a key consideration for many tuning enthusiasts. It is therefore important that electric drives can now also offer sporting performance. The choice of tires does not depend on the type of drive either – at least not if you choose Continental.” Continental firmly believes that tuning starts with the wheels and tires - and this also applies to electric vehicles. With the realignment of its product lines, the company is ready to equip electric vehicles with the right tires. All new Continental passenger tire models coming onto the market in Europe now carry the "EV Compatible" logo on the sidewall. The aim is to show that all current Continental tires are also suitable for electric cars. In addition, they should also reduce the consumption of vehicles with conventional drives.
