Brembo Check - the app to detect counterfeits!

Counterfeiting of Brembo brake components is becoming more and more widespread, as is the case with many products from the most famous brands. For brake components, counterfeiting is even more critical as it interferes with the performance of active safety systems that are critical to the safety of drivers, passengers and other road users. Brembo has developed an app called Brembo Check which helps identify the most advanced brake products as genuine Brembo components. Once Brembo Check is installed on the mobile device, all that remains is to scan the unique QR code on the label, which is located on both the packaging and the product. In this way it can be determined whether the purchased product is an original product or not. To prevent tampering, the label is produced using a printing and application process that makes it impossible to remove the label.

Brembo Check - the new app

If the label has been tampered with or someone has tried to remove it, the QR code cannot be used. This ensures that the label cannot be peeled off and applied to products other than the original. The QR code can also only be registered once, which represents a further guarantee of authenticity for the buyer. It should not accept certificates printed by dealers or third parties. With the Brembo Check App, the buyer plays an active role in checking the product. If the product is original, the app will send the certificate of authenticity directly to the email address provided during registration. If a buyer finds that the product's QR code has already been registered, they should contact their local Brembo dealer as soon as possible. If there are doubts about the authenticity of the product, the dealer will act immediately.

Launched 5 years ago to protect against fraud

To protect its customers from fraud, Brembo introduced a system of protection against counterfeiting five years ago. All performance components for the upgrade market are provided with a special counterfeit protection card, which is located in a sealed box. Customers have to scratch off the silver stripe on the card, under which a unique six-digit number appears. Once entered on the website www.original.brembo.com, this number confirms the authenticity of the product. The Brembo Check app, together with the QR code, is a further step in the fight against counterfeiting and will gradually replace the card. At the moment, both the new Brembo Check app and the counterfeit protection card can be used to check the authenticity of the products. QR codes are not affixed to racing products, brake pads (with the exception of SPORT brake pads) and motorcycle items from the Oro series.
