Fits a 370 hp Honda Civic VTEC engine in the classic Mini Morris Motor Co? Apparently yes! The Honda VTEC engine turns the battle dwarf into a “Honda Mini Cooper”, which even got a powerful accessory turbo charger squeezed under the hood. The British-born dwarf uses a 1,8-liter B18C4 engine from a Honda Civic VTi, which was happy with 169 hp in its previous life, to power it. But owner Dan, who is on Instagram as @vtecturbominiguy, has given the engine a Precision 5431 turbo kit to increase the power to 370 hp (275 kW). And still with front-wheel drive!
with K-Tuned Shifter X shift lever
There was also a K-Tuned Shifter X shift lever with a boost button with which you can switch the boost control maps (engine power) from high to low and many visual changes. And the acceleration values show how the boost control function works. During a test from 0 to 60 mph (approx. 97 km / h) in low-boost mode, which was carried out by Officially Gassed, the Mini with VTEC drive needed over 6 seconds for the sprint. By switching to High Boost, the value was reduced to 5,38 seconds. Best watch the video!
