After vehicles with caterpillar and chain drives and even bizarre screw-worm chassis, it is another attempt to reliably conquer the Siberian tundra. And this time it could actually work! Because the vehicle relies on a compromise in terms of economy and conversion effort. Huge low-pressure tires (balloon tires) are installed, which the Moscow vehicle manufacturer Avtoros attaches to the SUV. The tires were developed by Avtoros themselves and are a hefty 1,2 meters high and more than half a meter wide. They are powered by an Iveco turbodiesel three-liter engine with 176 hp.

This enables the Avtoros Shaman 8 × 8 to accelerate up to 70 km / h. And because the special tires with low air pressure and a huge contact area hardly generate any ground pressure and act as a float, the four-axle vehicle, sometimes weighing more than four tons, can be used as an amphibious vehicle. And it does not sink into various moorland meadows. The vehicle is stately. It is 6,4 meters long, 2,5 meters wide, an enormous 2,7 meters high and, depending on the equipment, weighs up to 4,8 tons. And the tires also allow an enormous ground clearance of 450 millimeters. All wheels can even be steered and, if necessary, each axis can be swiveled in the desired direction. Then it is also possible to walk sideways or turn in the opposite direction for a minimal turning circle.

Incidentally, each axle has built-in differential locks and the cab is also very special. The driver sits in the middle of a central cockpit and steers the off-roader with a conventional steering wheel. Depending on requirements, up to 9 people can ride along and, depending on the surface, the Avtoros Shaman 8 × 8 can carry up to 1.500 kilograms. And the construction with hardly any distance between the front and rear pairs of axles enables a spectacular ramp angle and, in combination with the small rear and the "negative" front overhang, it is also looking for Approach angle his own kind. But if there are any problems, a winch at the front ensures additional safety. The Avtoros Shaman 8 × 8 relies on a lightweight construction with an aluminum-plastic mix and the diesel engine is well protected high up in the central frame and even has a hydraulic power take-off installed.

It can be used to drive a folding screw at the stern in order to be able to move in the water at a maximum of 7 km / h. If sick people have to be evacuated from inaccessible areas, the Avtoros can even replace the helicopter. Depending on your requirements, the off-roader, which costs at least 183.250 euros, can be ordered with different tire sizes, an automatic tire inflation system, leather upholstery and even a roof air conditioning system. And typically Russia, a safe for handguns is also available.
