Spring is not long in coming. A particularly attractive harbinger of the warm season is already on the streets these days. With the market launch of the new edition of the MINI Convertible, brand-typical driving fun and extroverted style in a small car have reached an even higher level. The open four-seater from the British premium brand underlines its unmistakable charisma with a clear and reduced design. The fresh accents on the exterior are particularly intense in connection with the body paint in the new Zesty Yellow variant available exclusively for the MINI Convertible.
MINI Convertible with up to 131 kW / 178 PS!
The powerful, bright yellow emphasizes the lively charisma of the MINI Convertible. On the front of the vehicle, it also adorns the bumper strip that serves as a license plate holder, which is no longer painted in black, but always in the same color as the vehicle. The minimalist design language also brings the design features characteristic of the brand even more into focus. The hexagonal radiator grille has increased in size and presence, while the black inner housings make the round headlights look even more expressive. As standard, they provide LED units for low and high beam for bright and even illumination of the road. The fog lights have been replaced by vertical air inlets for the air curtains.
The precise modifications in the side view include wheel arch surrounds with new contours. In addition, the side indicators integrated in the redesigned side scuttles are now also made using LED technology. At the rear, the clear surface design and the now standard LED lights in the striking Union Jack design catch the eye.

The MINI Convertible combines enthusiasm for open driving fun with clever functionality. Its fully electrically powered and therefore particularly quiet textile hood can be opened and closed at the push of a button and within 18 seconds. The convertible top can also be activated while driving at speeds of up to 30 km / h. For a precisely dosed supply of fresh air and solar radiation, the front section of the soft top can be steplessly retracted by up to 40 centimeters. This sunroof function is available at any speed. As an alternative to the black version, a MINI Yours convertible top is also available, with a woven-in Union Jack pattern in titanium gray, a reference to the British home of the MINI brand. The dynamic arrow graphics on the hood of the MINI Convertible in the Sidewalk Edition are just as striking.
The open-air fun that is typical of the brand appeals to a steadily growing fan base around the world. By far the most important sales market for the MINI Convertible is Germany, followed by the USA and Great Britain and well ahead of France, Spain and Portugal, which are known for their reliably warm summers and many hours of sunshine. Last year, German MINI fans opted for a MINI convertible for almost every fifth purchase.
Power range between 102 and 231 hp
For the latest generation of the MINI Convertible, there is a choice of three engine variants with a power range between 75 kW / 102 PS and 131 kW / 178 PS. The gasoline engines with three or four cylinders have modern MINI TwinPower Turbo technology and comply with the Euro 6d emission standard. The model range also includes the extremely sporty MINI John Cooper Works Convertible (Combined fuel consumption: 7,4 - 7,1 l / 100 km according to WLTP, 7,4 - 7,1 l / 100 km according to NEDC; Combined CO2 emissions: 167 - 161 g / km according to WLTP, 169 - 163 g / km according to NEDC).
With it, the wind can easily reach storm strength. Its 170 kW / 231 PS four-cylinder turbo engine enables acceleration from zero to 100 km / h in 6,6 seconds. In conjunction with the optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission, the sprint to 100 km / h can be completed in 6,5 seconds.
17 inch scissor spoke or 18 inch pulse spoke
The MINI Convertible is not only the original in its vehicle class, but also a truly unique specimen as the only open model in the premium small car segment. Its exclusive character can be emphasized even more with new design and equipment features. In addition to the Zesty Yellow exterior color, Rooftop Gray metallic and Island Blue metallic are two other new variants for body painting. There are five new variants in the range of light alloy wheels. These include the 17-inch light alloy wheels in the Scissor Spoke design, which were previously only available for the MINI Convertible Sidewalk, and the 18-inch light alloy wheels in the Pulse Spoke design with a concentric bi-color look.
The new trims and equipment packages offer further customization options. With their harmoniously coordinated design features, Classic Trim, MINI Yours Trim and John Cooper Works Trim clearly highlight the different facets of the character of the MINI Convertible. The newly compiled equipment packages can also be used to specifically meet individual wishes in the areas of comfort, driver assistance and connectivity.
