Abarth goes Brazil: the Abarth Pulse SUV (2022)

Abarth goes Brazil – and has one for the first time SUV in luggage. The new Abarth Pulse - the first model from the house of the scorpion, which is available outside of Europe - is based on the compact SUV Fiat pulse. It is only sold in South America. And at the end of the year, the sporty brother of the Pulse will become exclusive to the Brazilian market come. In addition to the chic design, the Abarth Pulse also brings some new technical features. Abarth fans will immediately recognize a few design cues in the new one. And the design features will probably soon come to the new European Abarth vehicles such as the electric 500. Incidentally, the Abarth Pulse was first presented in the Brazilian version of the "Big Brother" series.

It meets all the visual demands placed on the brand with the scorpion. The Reds sticker, trim, Spiegel and Appearances immediately show that this is no ordinary pulse. The sporty, aggressive design is rounded off by two chromed ones tailpipes, black Alloy wheels and the classic black one Abarth lettering on the tailgate.

Another highlight can be found on the wheel arches: The well-known Logo by Abarth, crossed by a lightning bolt in the Italian national colors - a tribute to the brand's Italian roots. The Pulse is manufactured in Brazil and the debut is currently being prepared by various initiatives on Abarth's social media channels and website. And Fiat dealerships are even setting up a separate Abarth area in their showrooms and staff are being trained to give potential buyers the best possible advice on the Pulse. According to the style (2002, with a 2,4 liter five-cylinder engine, 170 hp) and the 500 (2004, 1,4 liter Multiair engine, approx. 167 hp) the Pulse is the third Abarth you can buy in Brazil.

Will there be a variant with around 180 hp?

The exact engine performance of the new Abarth model is currently still a secret. The "tame" version - the regular Fiat Pulse - comes with a 1,0-litre three-cylinder engine and a Power of 130 hp. It is also optionally available in the "Firefly" version with a displacement of 1,3 liters and 109 hp. There is already speculation as to whether the first non-European Abarth in its 73-year history, like the 500, will have a 1,4-litre Multiair engine with a power output between 144 and 179 hp will be installed.
