At first glance, it sounds unusual to German ears when Far Eastern tuning companies use German names such as Forest International or departure tuning. But in Japan it is often the case that in addition to so-called Anglicisms, various Germanisms, i.e. German loanwords, are used, and this is how the names of the tuning companies that are familiar to us, but at the same time strange. But we come to the extremely unusual Departure black, a supercar based on the Toyota Supra A80, which saw the light of day in 2011 and was only built once. As the name suggests, the vehicle is painted black, and we are now introducing you to this crazy creation.
A80 chassis and fiberglass body!
The Japanese car collector Akihiro Tamura, for example a 1997 Supra JZA80 owns, which has become his passion, commissioned the managing director of Abflug Uwabo Masamichito turn a crazy idea into reality. He didn't want upgrades from departure tuning, but one completely new bodybased on European supercars. Masamichi agreed and handed the project over to a team of designers who, together with the car fanatic Tamura, made their dream come true.
After investing a lot of time and money, the project was completed, and eventually the Fiberglass body of the designer team placed on the chassis of a Supra A80. That Suspension the Supra also got adjustable dampers and harder springs and Bremsanlage from Endless Racing. As you can see, the body is in the style of European supercars, and even the original ones tail lights a Ferrari 360 Modena found their way into the unique piece, as well diffuser, which usually also belongs to the Italian supercar. The front is a bit reminiscent of a Corvette C8, although the vehicle is 10 years older than the current C8-Vette, and from our point of view the flank looks like a mixture of a Camaro and a Nissan GT-R R35.
The shiny chrome ones are particularly noticeable alloy wheels in three-spoke design, the finish of which is strongly reminiscent of a Mercedes star. You have to like them, because such rims are not intended for the masses, but we think that they look good on the extraordinary vehicle. The name of the wheels is by the way Gran Revolve Prism II.
The interior is very sporty and classy!
As soon as you get the hydraulic scissor doors When you open in Lamborghini style and take a seat in Schwarzer's departure, the spirit of Italian sports cars wafts towards you. Alcantara as far as the eye can see, and one Custom steering wheel ensure a sporty and at the same time exclusive ambience. Bride Stradia Japan SPL sport seats also ensure that the driver and front passenger adopt a sporty seating position and have enough lateral support in fast corners.
2JZ in-line six-cylinder with turbocharging
The legendary one acts as the drive 2JZ-R6 engineto whom a great turbocharger was put aside to keep the performance at phenomenal 620 PS to heave. Even more impressive, however, is the engine's maximum torque, which comes with 884 Newton meters is quantified. This is absolute supercar territory and makes it clear that you don't do things by halves when you take off, but that every step has been perfectly planned. The power is transmitted via a Six-speed manual from Getrag to the rear wheels. In order not to let the power go up in smoke, the vehicle also has a electronic limited slip differential from TRD on the rear axle.
