ŠKODA AUTO Deutschland has worked with vehicle tuner ABT Sportsline to develop a particularly dynamic version of its compact model for the German market. The specially designed 1,5 TSI has an output of 140 kW (190 PS) with a torque of 290 Nm. With a sports suspension and a power-to-weight ratio of just 7,1 kilograms per hp, the special model offers an extremely agile driving experience. The SCALA EDITION S can be ordered from the ŠKODA dealerships in Germany from the beginning of next week from 33.790 euros. The special model SCALA EDITION S is initially limited to 500 units.

The new special model also visually emphasizes its independence: ŠKODA and ABT Sportsline have given the SCALA EDITION S special front and roof edge spoilers as well as a diffuser element at the rear. 18-inch ER-C18 alloy wheels from the vehicle tuner including sports tires underline the ambitious appearance. Since the SCALA EDITION S is based on the SCALA MONTE CARLO, there are black design elements on the grille frame, side skirts and exterior mirror caps as well as dark-tinted rear and rear side windows (Sunset). Full-LED main headlights and LED rear lights including animated indicators are also among the high-quality equipment details shared by both model versions. When it comes to the body color, SCALA EDITION S customers can choose between steel gray, black magic pearl effect and velvet red premium metallic.
Pedals in stainless steel and decorative elements in carbon look
The interior is also decidedly sporty: black fabric sports seats and the multifunction sports steering wheel with leather cover are also part of the standard scope of delivery, as are the pedals in a stainless steel design and decorative elements in carbon look. In terms of connectivity, the SCALA EDITION S has the Bolero infotainment system including Bluetooth hands-free system, SmartLink and ŠKODA Care Connect1. With Care Connect, service and safety features find their way into the vehicle. These include remote vehicle access and many other useful assistance services.
40 hp more than the standard version
Exclusive engine: power-to-weight ratio of 7,1 kilograms per hp
Together with the renowned vehicle tuner ABT Sportsline, ŠKODA has upgraded the 1,5 TSI engine of the SCALA. The turbo gasoline engine combined with a 6-speed manual transmission now has an output of 140 kW (190 PS) - 40 PS more than the standard version. This improves the power-to-weight ratio of the compact model to just 7,1 kilograms per hp. Together with the maximum torque, which increases by 40 to 290 Nm, this value underscores the dynamic character of the SCALA EDITION S. A sports chassis including a driving profile selection ensures the correspondingly agile handling: It lowers the center of gravity of the special model by 15 millimeters.
Price advantage of up to 2.150 euros
The SCALA MONTE CARLO already offers its buyers a price advantage of up to 2.150 euros compared to a similarly equipped SCALA Ambition. This also benefits the SCALA EDITION S, which also scores with the exclusive performance increase as well as the optical elements and the light alloy wheels from ABT Sportsline.
