A BMW 1 Series E81 is currently causing a sensation in BMW tuning circles. The special feature: under the hood of the vehicle there is no classic BMW drive, but a 4G63T engine the ninth generation from a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The car has said goodbye to its original drive and installed the top model from Mitsubishi instead. The 4G63T unit is highly regarded by tuning enthusiasts primarily due to its robust features including a solid cast block and high performance pistons. It is known that this engine can easily be upgraded to over 1.000 hp. Unfortunately, there is no information on the modifications and the performance achieved in the 1 Series.
Tuning on the Mitsubishi Lancer engine?
However, the sounds of the turbocharger and other acoustic indicators point to massive modifications and significantly increased performance. Visually, the tuned 1er presents itself completely in black. New rims, a front spoiler, an M4 style hood, rear fender flares, lowering and black kidneys complete the appearance. The switch from the BMW engine to the Mitsubishi drive is a cool change and we are excited. The unusual combination suggests a lot of driving fun. We eagerly await more details on the modifications made and actual performance.
