Another interesting video was posted on the dipyourcar.com Youtube channel. And the video shows that the possibilities are almost unlimited to give the vehicle a very personal touch. Fonzie from DipYourCar gives a BMW M3 E46 a "removable" Chrome paint. The look is a matter of taste, but the way and the technology behind it are interesting. And with this particular system, the intensity and clarity of the chrome are highly dependent on the quality of the primer applied previously. This is already applied at the start of the video and in glossy black.

Once the first coat has been sprayed on, it needs to be sanded and polished to get the mirror-like finish that one would expect from chrome. The M3 first got a layer of black Autoflex paint, which was then coated with the special chrome pigment. After only a few layers of chrome, the result can hardly be distinguished from a professional repainting with a conventional car paint for the layperson. However, it must also be mentioned that a special clear coat was used and not a conventional version.
