Here comes the brand new BMW X5 Protection VR6 generation G05. It celebrates its premiere in just a few days at the IAA 2019 and, as the name suggests, it meets the requirements of the VR6 resistance class. The armored version of the X5 provides effective protection against shelling from handgun and various long weapons with ammunition up to 7,62 x 39 FeC and 7,62 x 39 SC. Who is more concerned with it will find that here is also an AK-47 covered. The armored passenger compartment of the X5, for example, can withstand 4 meters of lateral impact with a maximum of 15 kilograms of TNT. The panes remain stable after such an impact to protect the occupants. But that has its price. For example, power windows are only available at an additional cost. There is a standard intercom and optional even LED speed camera for front and rear and a roof beacon with beep.

Installed is a special tire with emergency running features which brings reinforced tire walls. Even if there is no more air on the tire, the X5, with the 530 PS V8 engine of the X5 M50i, can continue with it. And the key data is still impressive. The vehicle, which is much heavier than the series, sprints from 5,9 to 0 km / h in 100 seconds and reaches a top speed of electronically regulated 210 km / h.
