It is undisputed that large SUVs with fat engines and a lot of power are currently very trendy. Videos that circulate online give thick SUV models such as a Cadillac Escalade or a Mercedes G-Class a cool image, and they become dream cars for kids and teenagers from all walks of life. Above all, rappers, athletes and actors, who like to present themselves in such large SUVs, which are usually also heavily modified, because you don't want to get off the shelf when you're rich and famous, ensure that the sales figures of these powerful SUV models know only one way, and that is the way up. Despite all the environmental and climate protection discussions, luxury SUV models in particular are proving to be true cash cows for premium manufacturers from all over the world. Of course, Cadillac is no exception and would like to get a large piece of the luxury SUV cake with the new Escalade.
Familiar design with the new Escalade.
The new Cadillac Escalade, which was recently presented to the public, is immediately recognizable as such, even if the design has been defused and, above all, now has much softer features on the front, which are very reminiscent of the smaller Cadillac XT6, the Sister model of the Chevrolet traverse. Nevertheless, the possible Escalade V shows in terms of design of the competition where the hammer is hanging. A powerful, black-edged grille and a power dome with an air scoop testify to a visual sportiness that was previously unknown to a 2,5-ton SUV. A Mercedes GLS 63 AMG, on the other hand, looks very good and honest, almost like a family carriage for well-heeled seniors.
Brutal drive with untamed forward drive.
There are rumors that a 4,2-liter V8 could be used, which thanks to supercharging will release 558 hp and an insane 850 Newton meters on all four driven wheels. This drive would be a further development of the engine already known from the Cadillac CT6 V-Sport, which could develop this brute performance in the possible Cadillac Escalade V-Sport. Equipped in this way, it would have a unique selling point, because no other SUV of this size, of which there are even a handful, is planning to put a sports version with such performance on its wheels.
The V-Sport as a big coup?
This version of the large Cadillac, should it ever come into series production, would be a marketing coup, because all stars and starlets who are at home in terms of music, film or sports would immediately buy such a Cadillac Escalade, and it would be with it the absolute hit in many children's and youth rooms around the world, which could finally catch up with the German premium competition from the Cadillac brand. It remains to be seen whether these rumors will ever bear fruit, and whether a V-Sport version of the Escalade will prove to be a fear for established luxury coaches in the future.
