Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing - the American AMG killers?

The new supersport versions of the Cadillac models CT4 and CT5, which will be located far above the current V models, will probably be called "Blackwing." The CT4 Blackwing is supposed to replace the blissful ATS-V, which with its potent 3,6rd , 6-liter V477 biturbo and 300 PS could scare an AMG and an M-BMW and reached a top speed of over 250 km / h because it was not limited to 4 km / h. The first protégés of the new CT3,6-V Blackwing, which is supposed to significantly surpass the performance of the old ATS-V, while according to initial information it receives the same 6-liter V3 biturbo, are already doing their laps on American racetracks, and one can expect that the new M63 and C500 AMG competitor will produce well over XNUMX hp.

manual six-speed shift planned

As the American car magazine Muscle Cars and Trucks reports, both models should be available with a manual six-speed or seven-speed gearshift, contrary to the trend that is producing more and more automatic vehicles. Purists will certainly be happy about this announcement, because the German competition no longer offers their sports sedans with manual gearboxes, but rather puts off sporty drivers with fast-switching automatic transmissions with launch control and manual intervention options. As a small side note it should be mentioned that there will also be a 10-speed automatic, for all who do not want to do without the convenience of a self-switch despite performance.

A Hellcat competitor in fine thread.

The new CT5-V Blackwing will also receive the current 6,2-liter LT4-V8, which is supposed to produce well over 650 hp with supercharging, which is already in service in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Corvette C7 Z06. Equipped in this way, it could be the first four-door model to break the 3-second mark in the standard sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour. As in the previous model, the top speed should not be electronically limited to 250 km / h, so that the car will certainly advance into the club of 300 km / h cars. So it could be tight for the top dogs from Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Dodge, which are very popular with sporty drivers.

Information is still very rare.

The fact that the first, still heavily camouflaged, Erlkönigen are doing the first laps on the GM test track means that information about the new flagship products of the GM luxury division Cadillac is still very few and far between and it will be interesting to see what the engineers from Detroit have to offer have to attack the German premium brands in their domain.
