As the American car magazine Muscle Cars and Trucks reports, both models should be available with a manual six-speed or seven-speed gearshift, contrary to the trend that is producing more and more automatic vehicles. Purists will certainly be happy about this announcement, because the German competition no longer offers their sports sedans with manual gearboxes, but rather puts off sporty drivers with fast-switching automatic transmissions with launch control and manual intervention options. As a small side note it should be mentioned that there will also be a 10-speed automatic, for all who do not want to do without the convenience of a self-switch despite performance.

The new CT5-V Blackwing will also receive the current 6,2-liter LT4-V8, which is supposed to produce well over 650 hp with supercharging, which is already in service in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Corvette C7 Z06.
