5 turbos on 4 cylinders we already know. But you can also do one LS-V8 build in a “Ford Mustang” and then give each cylinder a turbo? So 8 pieces? Yup - go! And in the following video you can see the Mustang on the test bench. Before the first start, new ones were added spark installed and the built-in winter tires also had to go down. Then the run went to the tuner AFR Autoworks shop Come on. And the engine actually works! Kyle had a budget of roughly $ 3.000 for the project, with the turbos costing $ 80 each. There has been a lot of discussion about the vehicle over the past two months and many have firmly believed that it will never work. Of course the idea is inefficient, but it looks great AND it works. And the soundscape is definitely very special. Run number 1 brought 363,1 PS at 4.650 RPM and a maximum torque of 561 Nm at 4.600 rpm on the paper, without that the engine ran over the entire speed range.

1.000 hp and a time of 9 seconds are the goal

In the third run it looked better. The V8 allowed a maximum output of 480,6 PS , and a Torque of 630 Nm. After total 8 runs however, it became clear that the car is facing some problems. After some more adjustments and changes there was at 6.775 rpm then a whopping 555,2 hp. And there was still room for more. At some point the V8 delivered mighty ones 737,1 PS at 6.575 rpm and 800 Nm torque at 6.525 rpm. Later in the video, Kyle even planned a 4-digit result by building that up Nitrous oxide system connects. Unfortunately, technical problems have that for the time being prevented. The plan on about 1.000 PS there is still a chance to come, only the budget of $ 3000 is in serious danger!

Update 04.2021

With all the love and hate that the Turbo Mustang project has experienced in recent months, its owner Kyle Williams is still pushing the conversion. And now he's got the Mustang out of the garage again. At that time, the vehicle achieved a maximum of 737 hp and a torque of 800 Nm on the test bench. Since then there have been other changes like the insane huge Intercooler installed and now the new test drive with 116 octane fuel approached. Have fun with the video!
