Update for the Porsche infotainment system: more diverse, more intuitive, more intelligent

Porsche upgrades its infotainment system. The current, sixth generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) in the 911, Taycan, Cayenne and Panamera models now has numerous new functions. For the first time, they include native integration of Spotify, a revised user interface design, additional optimization of the voice assistant Voice Pilot, a wireless connection of Android Auto and improvements in the planning of charging stops for electric vehicles.

Optimized user interface for the PCM

New, colored icons increase the recognition value of the functions on the revised PCM 6.0 user interface. Porsche implemented this improvement at the suggestion of its customers. In addition to the clarity of the display, the update of the PCM improves the scope of the Voice Pilot. The integrated voice assistant is further improved and simplifies access to many functions. They include the news area, the operating instructions and the music streaming of the vehicle.

Native Spotify integration

Spotify Premium customers can access their favorite songs and podcasts directly in the revised PCM 6.0. Your account will be linked to the vehicle via the Porsche ID in order to be able to use Spotify as an additional media source. The vehicle then accesses the streaming service provider's offering directly, without having to use a smartphone. More than 70 million songs and 3,2 million podcasts are available for playback on demand, the data volume required for this is included with Porsche Connect. All saved playlists are directly available and the Like function and the new Go-To-Radio option are natively integrated. The latter finds similar songs to the currently playing piece of music.

Charging planner with improved algorithms

With electric cars, it is important to plan the route as efficiently as possible. That is why Porsche is improving the calculation of charging processes in the Charging Planner. The optimized algorithm prioritizes charging stations with high power and plans charging stops more efficiently. These improvements are also based on customer feedback. In addition, when calculating the total driving time, the Charging Planner now also takes into account the time required to start and end the charging process at the charging station. All in all, these measures lead to a significantly improved charging experience.

To improve clarity, a dynamic zoom behavior for charging stations will be introduced while driving. In the immediate vicinity, the system displays all available charging options including occupancy status. In the further view, the display is limited to fast charging stations. A new filter allows charging points to be sorted by power. The navigation of the PCM 6.0 also includes a revised route monitor on which relevant events can be shown and hidden individually while driving. The new functions are now part of the standard equipment of every newly configured Porsche 911, Taycan, Cayenne and Panamera. The exact scope depends on the equipment and drive type of the vehicle.

Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
