Perfect combination - Sky Saturn with 7.0L LS7 V8 power!

Too bad that the service life of the Saturn Sky (also offered as Opel GT, Pontiac Solstice, Daewoo G2X) was not particularly long. The topless runabout still looks modern and after all there hasn't been a real Opel GT Roadster for a long time. The only three-year-old was available as a 2,0-liter turbo Ecotec four-cylinder engine (Z20NHH, LNF) with 264 horses and had a maximum torque of 353 Nm from 2000 rpm. Enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5,7 seconds and reach a top speed of 229 km / h. However, real tests often showed that the specification from 5,7 seconds to 100 km / h was rather optimistic. Various measurements were in the range of 6 to 6,3 seconds at 100 km / h. Mallett Performance Cars from Cornelius in North Carolina apparently no longer wanted to accept this and simply missed a General Motors LS V8.

437 PS and 573 NM torque

The Saturn Sky models with LS drive were recently offered for sale on Bring-A-Trailer and the 7,0-liter LS7-V8 developed a whopping 437 hp and 573 Nm of torque in this vehicle. The LS7 originally came from the C6 Corvette Z06 and was later also installed in the fifth generation Camaro Z / 28. In addition to the engine, there was also a LuK® - Pro Gold Performance clutch, Corsa stainless steel silencer, sport springs and an improved suspension. The engine was coupled to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission with specially adapted drive shafts and half-shafts and a 3,73: 1 differential. Aside from a slightly mismatched chrome set of wheels and custom embroidered headrests, the rest of the Saturn Sky is unchanged.
