He is the legend of the Renault repertoire par excellence Renault 5 Turbo! And such a box is a real “man's thing” as we find it. For years, the Renault 5 was the French’s favorite shopping cart, but the Turbo had nothing to do with it. Because Renault launched it in 1980, 8 years after the premiere of the 34 hp model, and caused a sensation. A vehicle that housed a drilled 1,4-liter four-cylinder from the notchback R-12 with a Garrett loader in the middle, which generates 160 hp at a maximum of 0,86 bar. There was also rear-wheel drive, wide rear jaws and, as a Group 4 competition vehicle, even a powerful 250 hp and more. And now the graphic artist Khyzyl Saleem has thought about a new interpretation of the R5 based on a current Renault Clio.

Base: Renault Clio RS Line from 2020

In particular, he used a Renault Clio RS Line from 2020, which after the conversion has almost nothing in common with the series. The body was widened extremely in the typical angular style of the R5 Turbo and in particular the rear hardly allows conclusions to be drawn about the current Clio. Add to the widening all around Cibie Additional lights in the radiator grille and the front apron, there is a bonnet with a central air opening including power dome and a powerful rear wing sits enthroned on the roof. The entire body is wrapped in a chic black and there were also motorsport alloy wheels with central locking and huge drop center. With small details such as the black headlights, the dark taillights, the slat cover (also called cat stairs) for the tailgate and of course the powerful lowering, the visual changes are largely rounded off on the outside.

there are also changes in the cabin

And the cabin is apparently designed entirely for motorsport. Although there are not really specific pictures here, a yellow painted roll cage and sporty bucket seats can still be seen. We particularly like the virtual Renault 5 Turbo tribute from "The Kyza" with the striking rear area with countless air openings and the missing apron and literally screams for a quick implementation like her JP Performance and Prior Design for the Khyza VW Golf 2 GTI plans. Especially with regard to the RS variant of the Clio, which is apparently NOT intended by Renault, such a monster would at least be a small consolation for all RS fans. If we receive more pictures from the widebody Renault Clio RS Line as Renault 5 Turbo homage from Khyzyl Saleem in a timely manner, there is of course an update for this report.
