For many people, the car is not just a means of transport, but also a statement. So that the vehicle comes into its own at all times of the day and night and captures admiring glances, it should be taken care of and often washed. Hand washing your car is a great way to pass the time in summer. With falling temperatures, however, car care is less fun. However, a well-kept car is particularly important in autumn and winter: mud, snow and road salt deposits not only have an unsightly effect, they also attack the paintwork of the car and can cause permanent damage. The safety aspect should also not be neglected: dirty windscreens restrict the overview and dirty headlights and taillights make the car almost invisible.
Salt attacks the paint
The typical autumn weather already causes dirty cars in October. Driving the car to the gas station every month and having it washed there is reasonable, but it usually costs around ten euros per wash. In order to keep the costs as low as possible, look for offers and discounts at the large petrol stations. At the petrol station group TOTAL, for example, there is a special washing campaign: If you buy the rechargeable TOTAL washing card with an amount of 100 euros, you can save 25 percent. In this case, the nationwide TOTAL washing card with a credit of 100 euros only costs 75. But even smaller amounts currently save money: with a credit of 45 euros, 20 percent, 30 euros 15 percent and 15 euros ten percent of the purchase price deducted.
But saving money is not the only reason why car washing at TOTAL makes sense. The paint of a car is influenced by various environmental influences and receives fine depressions and microscopic cracks. As a result of the change, the resistance and gloss of the lacquer decrease significantly. TOTAL offers a specially developed care series for this problem, which fills the fine depressions and protects the paint from the formation of new cracks and holes. The lotus series forms a color-neutral protective layer that hardens after application and remains on the paint. The surface of the paint is sealed in this way and the degree of gloss is increased. If the lotus care is renewed from time to time at one of the around 600 TOTAL petrol stations with a washing system, the protective layer can become thicker and thicker, which greatly improves the resistance of the paint.

Incidentally, TOTAL is currently organizing a big competition: A nice mini-game can currently be played online. With "Space Travelers: The Mission", the user flies with a selected spaceship through four planets, which represent the different seasons.
