CarEYE® Safety Angle Turn Assist from Brigade!

Brigade Elektronik GmbH – a market-leading provider of vehicle security systems – has launched a new vehicle security system with artificial intelligence on the German market. The CarEYE® Safety Angle turning assistant from EYYES GmbH uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize pedestrians, cyclists or objects. The system's AI precisely evaluates the images from the vehicle-mounted cameras and uses them to calculate the future course of movement of people or objects in the vicinity. Using this data, the system reliably and precisely warns the driver in real time of a possible collision before it occurs.

Warnings are given either actively by an acoustic signal and a red warning light when people or objects are actually at risk of collision, or passively by a yellow warning light if e.g. B. people or objects removed from the danger zone. This drastically reduces false alarms. CarEYE® was also the clear winner in the ADAC test, in which the system demonstrated its optimal performance and was able to assert itself against other, similar vehicle safety systems on the market. The ADAC praised the test winner CarEYE® in particular for the reliable avoidance of false warnings, the clear and understandable visual feedback to the driver and the fast reaction time when recognizing people and objects.

John Osmant, Managing Director of Brigade Elektronik GmbH, comments: “The precision of the CarEYE® AI makes false warnings practically impossible and gives the driver maximum safety when maneuvering the vehicle. The system is able to differentiate between cars, trucks, pedestrians, cyclists and static objects such as trees and bollards. The movement and expected direction are then calculated, making the system extremely reliable."

Features and benefits of the CarEYE Safety Angle turning assistant:

  • Eligible for funding thanks to general operating permit (ABE) from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA)
  • Suitable for commercial vehicles, including buses as well as special and emergency vehicles
  • Possibility of retrofitting existing vehicles
  • Minimizing false alarms through artificial intelligence
  • Extended monitoring area for blind spots up to 10 m long and 4 m wide
  • Detection of cyclists in the second row behind parked cars according to UN ECE R151
  • Signal strategy with yellow and red light according to UN ECE R151 (Blind Spot Information System)
  • Fully performs in low light (2-20 lux ambient lighting) and poor weather conditions
  • The system is activated when driving straight ahead and activating the right turn signal, when cornering and activating the right turn signal or when turning without activated turn signals
  • System is also available for the left side of the vehicle
  • Objects in the hazardous area are classified by type
  • Self-diagnostic function: The device reports whether it is in operation or not
  • Simple, uncomplicated assembly
  • Possibility for software updates as required
  • Sustainable development in Austria and Germany

"In Germany, around 70 cyclists are killed in collisions with a truck and 665 are seriously injured every year," says Osmant. “A third of these accidents could have been prevented with a turning assistant like CarEYE®. This makes this technology absolutely essential to improve the safety of all road users and save lives.” “CarEYE® is eligible for a government grant; So we appeal to fleet operators to think about such systems for their vehicles as soon as possible, so that vulnerable road users can be protected from harm and further fatalities can be avoided.”
