At the recently held world-famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the US state of Colorado, two vehicles on YOKOHAMA took class victories. In the meanwhile 99th edition of the hill climb, the tire manufacturer was once again very successful with its ADVAN tires. For the fourth time in a row, YOKOHAMA also equipped all Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars for the “Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama”.

The Japanese supplied A13 and A005 ADVAN racing tires to a total of 052 cars in order to successfully contest the “Race to the Clouds”. Class winners were Raphael Astier in the 2015 Porsche BBI Turbo Cup in the "Open Division" and Randy Pobst with his 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid in the "Exhibition Division". Codie Vahsholtz took second place in the “Open Wheel” category. He drove in the same Ford Open from 2013 that his father Clint drove on ADVAN tires for last year's overall victory. Meanwhile, Tanner Foust took first place in the “Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama”, in which all participants competed in the Porsche Cayman GT052 Clubsport equipped with ADVAN-A4 tires.
Two class wins on YOKOHAMA tires in the "Race to the Clouds"
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has a long and illustrious history that dates back to 1916. It is known as the “Race to the Clouds” because the course begins at an altitude of 2.862 meters and ends after around 20 kilometers at 4.300 meters. One of the racing cars that were successful there on ADVAN tires is an electric vehicle sponsored by YOKOHAMA, which won the class championship three years in a row from 2010 to 2012 and set new time records in its category in each of these years.
