The biggest challenge of the Mustang chassis, however, is the rear axle, which is prone to unrest in the standard condition.

Steeda fixes the problem with the so-called IRS system (Independent rear suspension), made of reinforced Tie Rods, more massive struts to connect the upper and lower Wishbone as well as bushings and aluminum discs to reinforce the rubber mounting at the connection point of the chassis and rear axle. This gives the rear a previously unattainable level of stability, the wheel jumping under load is avoided and straight-line stability is significantly improved.
