Powerful sound from the trunk, a crazy design for the outer skin and additional electric thrust on the rear axle. 2017 trainees built their dream Golf for the 13 GTI meeting. Strictly speaking, 13 junior staff from 6 professions. They were asked to use digital technologies to build a show car according to their ideas and bring it to the lake. And it was ready in time for the presentation on May 24th. The project is called Golf GTI First Decade and brings 410 PS from a petrol engine (Drive on the front axle) in combination with a 48-volt electric motor that drives the rear wheels with a maximum output of 12 kW. Both types of drive work individually, but should also be desired together. The GTI can be driven in the classic way with front-wheel drive, in electric mode with rear-wheel drive or combined with all-wheel drive.
You can set this using the app on a tablet PC, and optionally you can also configure the infotainment display via Mirror Link. And there is also a lot to see optically. For example, the contrast foils and decorative strips were designed on the PC. The choice of paintwork was also made in this way, as was the design of the rims. And so that there was a lot going on in the interior, there was a spectacular high-tech sound system in the rear of the trainee GTI. It is connected to the Internet and has 11 loudspeakers and of course a thick subwoofer and thus brings a whopping 1.690 watts of total power. The side and speaker panels were designed using CAD technology and then produced using 3D printing technology. For the driver and front passenger it means "take a seat" on hand-made sports seats including nappa leather and Alcantara covers and the driver's seat can even be controlled using an app.
With the app you can use a total of six functions: length adjustment, height adjustment, inclination of the seat and backrest, adjustment of the lumbar support and even different massage profiles for the back area. So that this does not have to be done every time, a memory function enables the duration, intensity and course to be saved. Visually, the race design has been adopted from the outside into the interior of the vehicle. Blue decorative strips, rimmed air vents with adapted instrument clusters, a matching steering wheel clasp or the Atlantic Blue decorative strips on the side with the start number 10 set chic accents. The VW GOLF GTI FIRST DECADE is rounded off with a dark blue decorative panel above the glove compartment including "First Decade" lettering.
