About a year ago, Acura, Honda's premium brand in North America, brought the legendary name Integra back, which has a permanent place in the Japanese car and tuning scene. The new Integra is designed as a five-door hatchback sedan, while its predecessor, the Honda Integra DC5, was only available as a two-door coupe. Previously, the Integra was only available with a 203 hp 1,5 liter petrol engine. But with the recently introduced Type S version, the model now has a more powerful version. The Type S is equipped with a 2,0-litre VTEC four-cylinder (K20C) engine, which thanks to turbocharging produces impressive 324 PS & 432 Nm performs. This makes the new Type S the most powerful series Integra ever produced. The exhaust system has three centrally arranged tailpipes and an active flap control for a befitting sound.

Incidentally, the power is transmitted via a Six-speed manual with rear axle locking differential. The optimized chassis, a wider track, a thicker front stabilizer and modified tuning of the adaptive dampers also ensure good road holding and agile driving dynamics. The braking system boasts 350mm discs at the front and 305mm at the rear, with the front discs being gripped by Brembo four-piston calipers.
Visually, the Type S differs significantly from the previous A-Spec version. Wider fenders and a sporty front end with large air intakes and a lush radiator grille ensure an athletic appearance. The bonnet also has a central air vent. The side line is characterized by new side skirts and 9,5×19 inch rims with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. At the rear there is also a distinctive diffuser and a small spoiler.
Space for up to four people
In the interior, the Type S offers space for up to four people and also features high-quality materials and exclusive design elements. The sports seats are partly covered with microfibre fabric and heated. The steering wheel has a perforated leather cover with red decorative stitching and the shift lever is also specially designed for the Type S. Infotainment is provided by a 10,2-inch dashboard display and a 9-inch touchscreen in the center console, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A 530-watt premium sound system with 16 loudspeakers also ensures excellent music enjoyment if the exhaust sound is to become a minor matter.
Despite the sporty orientation, the Integra Type S is still really practical. The trunk has a maximum of 688 liters of storage space, which can even be expanded by folding the rear seats. The Acura Integra Type S will start at $50.800 in the US and we don't know if it'll come to us. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
