BRABUS Mercedes EQS: better drag coefficient and more range!

The Mercedes EQS is one of the most aerodynamic automobiles in the world right from the factory. Owners of the electric luxury sedan who want to further optimize this quality can equip their vehicle with aerodynamic components, wheels and lowering from BRABUS. As part of extensive comparative measurements in the wind tunnel, it was determined that the BRABUS exterior components improve the drag coefficient by an enormous 7,2 percent! The reduced cW value reduces the driving resistance, which has a positive effect on the range, which increases by an average of 100 percent at speeds between 140 and 7,0 km/h thanks to the optimized aerodynamics.

In addition, the BRABUS body conversion, the parts of which are produced in visible carbon, gives the four-door a decidedly sporty look and the BRABUS 1-second-wow effect. The tailor-made BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels, which are available in various designs with diameters of up to 22 inches, play a decisive role in the even more exciting appearance of the electrically powered luxury sedan.

  • 7,2 percent better drag coefficient and 7,0 percent more range thanks to BRABUS aerodynamics, Monoblock M wheels and lowering
  • The exclusive and highly efficient BRABUS refinement program for the Mercedes EQS electric luxury sedan

As with all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, there are numerous individual refinement options for the interior of the EQS, including the particularly exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior.

the focus is on aerodynamics

Ever since BRABUS was founded in 1977, the development of body components that not only make Mercedes-Benz automobiles appear more sporty and elegant, but also optimize the aerodynamics, has always been at the top of the developers' specifications. A strength that the company has proven time and time again: In 1985, the BRABUS designers earned the tuner's first entry in the Guinness Book of Records: In wind tunnel tests, a Mercedes sedan from the W 124 series with a BRABUS aerodynamic kit achieved a drag coefficient -Cd value = 0,26.

A world record at the time and still a value today that is only achieved by a few far more modern cars. The BRABUS aerodynamics program for the electrically powered Mercedes EQS class transfers this tradition into the present. The body components were fine-tuned in the wind tunnel and not only make the four-door car look even more exciting.

  • BRABUS customization program for the Mercedes-Benz EQS (V 297)
  • Dynamic carbon elements such as the striking BRABUS front spoiler, BRABUS rear diffuser and BRABUS rear spoiler
  • BRABUS SportXtra lowering front axle up to 15 millimeters and rear axle 25 millimeters
  • BRABUS Monoblock Z "Platinum Edition" forged wheels and other wheel variants available in different formats
  • In combination with our 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock M forged wheels and the BRABUS SportXtra lowering, the EQS has a cd value that is 7,2 percent better than the production vehicle

The aerodynamic qualities are particularly impressive: Extensive comparative tests in the wind tunnel showed that the electrically powered sedan with the BRABUS aerodynamic kit, Monoblock M 22-inch wheels and lowering thanks to the BRABUS suspension module had a cd value that was 7,2 percent better than the same car in series configuration. A value that once again documents the extremely high level of know-how with which the BRABUS developers operate. The body components are made of carbon and are supplied with either a high-gloss or matt finish to give the luxury liner a sporty look.

BRABUS front spoiler - carbon lip

The face of the EQS is made even more dynamic by the BRABUS front spoiler. In addition, the carbon lip not only reduces the cW value, but also minimizes lift on the front axle with its raised outer cheeks. A reduction of 100 percent was measured in the wind tunnel. Of course, this also improves driving stability at high speeds. The carbon panels for the side air intakes in the front apron not only contribute to the more distinctive face, but also direct the airstream even more specifically to the radiator and front brakes. In order to make the side sections sportier and to positively influence the air flow, the BRABUS designers developed carbon air deflectors that are attached in front of the rear wheel arches. The rear section is upgraded with a diffuser and a spoiler made from the same high-tech compound, which reduces the aerodynamic lift at the rear by up to 40 percent.

The BRABUS monoblock wheels, available in numerous designs and sizes with diameters of 20 to 22 inches, were tailor-made for the wheel arches of the EQS. The attached on-location and studio photos show the electric sedan with the largest wheel/tire combination available for this model series in the BRABUS Monoblock Z ten-spoke design. The forged "PLATINUM EDITION" rims perfectly fill the wheel arches in the dimensions 9Jx22 at the front with 255/35 ZR 22 tires and 10.5Jx22 with 295/30 ZR 22 on the rear axle. The wind tunnel pictures show the refined EQS with the BRABUS Monoblock M wheels in the aerodynamically particularly favorable disc design.

lower with the BRABUS SportXtra module

Not only does the look benefit from the BRABUS wheels, the handling also becomes even more agile with the wheel/tire combinations from the largest manufacturer-independent automobile tuner in the world. An effect that can be further expanded with the BRABUS SportXtra module. It is adapted to the air suspension using plug-and-play technology and lowers the electrically powered luxury sedan by 15 millimeters at the front and 20 millimeters at the rear. This lowering also makes an important contribution to reducing the drag coefficient.

Of course, the refiner also offers countless options for tailoring the interior of all EQS models to the personal taste of the owner. Door sill trims with illuminated BRABUS logo, which changes color in line with the ambient lighting, BRABUS pedals made of aluminum or carbon are just as much part of the product range as high-quality floor mats or a velor trunk mat. Both feature the refiner's logo and are lined with leather.

In the in-house upholstery shop, particularly elegant BRABUS fine leather interiors can also be made for the Mercedes EQS, which not only impress with their practically limitless variety of colors and designs. The quality of the workmanship down to the last corner is just as unique. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report.
