1988 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 with eye-catching tuning!

The generation of Fox body mustangs is probably the least popular series in the entire series. The third edition of the classic almost got Ford discontinuing the Mustang to get it through the unfortunate one Ford probe to replace. Thankfully we were spared the dilemma, but the third generation Fox-Body-Mustang is not necessarily one of the automotive highlights of the Ford Group. Malicious tongues even claim that it was a somewhat pimped up Ford Escort that had larger engines transplanted, but not a vehicle that represents the model name Mustang with dignity. Today we would like to introduce you to a copy of the series in more detail, which from our point of view was tuned a bit tasteless by its previous owner. This was probably one of the reasons why it recently found a new owner at Bring A Trailer for only 12.251 US dollars.

You have to like it, the Fox Body Mustang!

Starting with the silver-purple Painting, which from our point of view takes some getting used to, this drags on Fair tuning like a red thread through the entire project. For example, the side ones wind deflector, which should have a positive effect on the wind noise, ugly to say the least, and the rear spoiler, which would also qualify as a beer table, doesn't look very tasteful either.

It is too thick and looks like it was installed in a backyard workshop, or as if the previous owner bought it from e ***. But let's get to the front of the car. At the front, the tinted headlights are immediately noticeable, which are not at all with the Two-tone paint harmonize. In addition, there is a very exaggerated power dome with air outlets, which is intended to suggest to the environment that a huge big block is hidden in the Mustang. However, there are also positive things to report, because the 17-inch alloy wheels from SVE look classy with their five-spoke star design, the deep bed optics and the shiny silver finish.

On the rims were Slippers by Nitto in the format 255/40 R17 in the front, and tires from the same company in the format 275/40 R17 in the rear. The rest is unfortunately fair tuning as it is in the book, and it is difficult for us to find arguments for this type of vehicle modification.

A few modern features found their way into the interior!

In contrast to the cheap tuning of the exterior, the interior is kept simple and simple. You could even say it looks cheap for a Mustang. New ones came in Gear levers from Hurst, a Kenwood sound system, a Air conditioning, Cruise Control as well as electrical power windows, electric Spiegel and Central locking system. In addition, one joins Multifunctional steering wheelthat looks like it's coming from a commercial vehicle.

A 5 liter V8 petrol engine powers this Ford!

We can report something positive from the engine compartment, because there is a 5 liter V8 naturally aspirated gasoline engine its service, which has an electronic injection has, and the one BBK intercooler, MSD distributor, Ford Racing ignition leads as well as a SVE aluminum compressor were put aside. We don't know the exact power or the maximum torque, but power should be in abundance due to the displacement. The power is transmitted via a Five-speed manual with locking differential on the rear wheels.

Our Conclusion for the Ford Mustang V8 from 1988:

We're sorry, but from our point of view, this vehicle does not deserve to be called the Mustang! In addition, it was quite defaced by the previous owner, and thus senkan we thumbs up!
