Fantastic: 1978 Ford Mustang II SEMA as a restomod!

The darling of the Mustang scene is this Ford Mustang II (1974-1978) certainly not. And even in the tuning scene, it has hardly existed so far. But with this example, at least the second point changes a bit. Because the basis for the conversion was actually a Ford Mustang II from 1978. And it became complete restauriert and rebuilt, and in our opinion is in no way inferior to its legendary predecessor. And now at the latest we can understand why the second generation of the Mustang II is one of the best-selling generations ever. Simply because it looks great! And that is especially true for this example. The dreamlike Restomod in Grabber Blue and Black is current from Velocity Motorcars via duPont Registry available for purchase, but has the "slight downside" that it has the potential to become the most expensive Mustang II ever.

The '78 Mustang II wears a fully customized Body, under which is a specially made Tubular frame with independent suspension and wide track hidden. In the rear area, the changes are so extensive that they are huge 325 tires can be accommodated. And even on the front axle they are still powerful 275 rubbers. The sporty ones are raised Low-profile tires on black 18 inch rims and behind it hides a massive one sports brake system with saddles in body color as well as with large slotted ones Brake discs. According to the description, the conversion has an almost 50/50 weight distribution. And while the original lacked in performance, this example is beyond reproach. The old V8 was thrown out and he was with a 5,0 liter Coyote V8 replaced by the second generation. And the engine even got a "Borla Eight Stack Throttle Body Kit“ donated as well as a specially made Sports exhaust system.

Incidentally, the unique piece is switched by means of the befitting Tremec six-speed manual. While no horsepower is mentioned, it is believed that the power is well in excess of the 134 horsepower available in a factory 1978 Mustang 4,9-litre V8 engine. And inside? This is all new too. seating is now only available for two people and has about one built-in modern component Alpine double DIN sound system in the dashboard. And while the tall center console and door panels are typically Mustang II, this is reminiscent dashboard to a vehicle from the period 1994 to 2004. By the way, this Mustang II has been to the SEMA car show exhibited and even had one once V10 under the hood. Unfortunately, we don't know why this is no longer the case.
