Hennessey, the Texas-based manufacturer of hypercars and tuned vehicles, has snagged the new Ford F-150 Raptor R and gone with it six wheel drive stocked. Curtain up for 2023 VelociRaptoR 6×6 The "VelociRaptoR 6×6" is based on the third generation F-150 Raptor R and, in addition to an extended frame and a second, fully functional and locking rear axle, which increases traction by more than 50%, it also has a lot to offer visually . But let's stay with the technology for now. The chassis got Fox dampers all around in combination with new springs, there was a Brembo high-performance brake system for improved deceleration and a lift kit for an additional 3 inches (approx. 8 cm) of ground clearance is installed.

In addition, the XXL Raptor stands on Hennessey's tailor-made 20-inch alloy wheels with 37-inch (0,94 m) off-road tires. Behind the cab, a 2,4-metre-long load floor replaces the standard 1,67-metre factory counterpart, increasing load capacity by more than 45%.

And as already mentioned, in addition to the technical upgrades, there were also visual changes to the body. A new front and rear apron are installed, there were additional LED lights and of course special Hennessey VelociRaptoR emblems should not be missing.

Curb weight approx. 3 tons

Der "VelociRaptoR After the conversion, the 6×6″ is a monster almost 8 meters long, around 2,13 meters high and 2,13 meters wide with an empty weight of almost 3 tons. Nevertheless, the series performance is apparently sufficient. Because there was more power (or) not. From the factory, the Raptor R engine, a supercharged 5,2-liter V8, already produces an impressive 700 hp at 6.650 rpm and 868 Nm of torque at 4.250 rpm. That's enough, according to Hennessey, to ensure that the "VelociRaptoR 6×6″ is sufficiently motorized both on and off-road.

Incidentally, putting such powerful pickups on the road as a "6×6" conversion is nothing new for Hennessey's engineers. After all, the company is the world's largest manufacturer of customized F-150 Raptor vehicles and has built countless VelociRaptor trucks for customers around the world. The limited "VelociRaptoR 6×6" ranks between the RAM-based ones MAMMOTH 6×6 TRX and the Goliath 6×6 Silverado based on Chevrolet. The new "VelociRaptoR 6×6” starts at $499.999 including base vehicle and 3 year/36.000 mile warranty. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
