HS Motorsport makes the BMW M140i a hot potato!

While the focus is often on the shining stars of the BMW range, the M2 or his little siblings M235i/M240i, is easy to forget that the 1-series also has top-class models up its sleeve. That's how it counts M140i, built between 2016 and 2019 on the basis of the second generation 1 F20/21, thanks to its performance of 340 PS and 500 Nm and the powerful 3,0-liter straight-six are still among the hottest hits in the compact class. And as if that wasn't enough, the bolide even has a lot of tuning potential. And the team of HS Motorsport has the potential of what is shown here F21 M140i with their Stage 2 performance increase massively exhausted. The optimization includes both a software revision as well as the installation of one HJS downpipe with metal catalyst and one SF Filters air filter cartridge.

And thanks to a built-in one M Performance exhaust system the tuned "Baby-M" now announces its power with a brute sound. A look at the data sheet reveals: The souped-up M140i achieves breathtaking results 500 hp and 659 Nm maximum torque. These are figures that are otherwise only known from thoroughbred sports cars. In order to bring the power efficiently to the road, HS Motorsport has also equipped the Hot Hatch with a mechanical one differential lock equipped. But don't worry, the Beast remains a gentleman: Visually, the M140i is clearly reserved and only reveals its power at second glance. A true Sleeperwho only by his new wheelset the tuning heart can be seen.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
