A four-cylinder in the AMG GT? The new Mercedes-AMG GT 43 Coupé!

The new Mercedes AMG GT 43 Coupé (192 series) for 2024 is intended to mark a turning point in the world of performance vehicles. Under the extremely long hood of the GT 43 there is only half as long 2,0 liter four-cylinder turbo. It is known from the AMG A 45 S and performs 422 PS and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The power is about the known 9-speed AMG Speedshift MCT and only put on the road with rear-wheel drive, which means the 43 in just 4,6 seconds from 0 to 100 sprints and a top speed of 280 clothes reached. Despite the compact engine, the AMG GT 43 is intended to deliver a sporty mix of performance and efficiency, supported by a 48-volt mild hybrid system.

A special highlight is the electric exhaust turbo, which ensures an immediate response and along with that belt driven starter generator an additional boost of 14 PS delivers. The look of the AMG GT 43 remains true to the family, with a length of 4,73m and a width of 1,93m. New elements like the aggressive one front apron with large air inlets, narrower ones fender and a revised one rear apron underline the sporty character. The GT 43 is standard 19 inch aluminum, with variants up to 21 inch. In the interior, the driver can expect the usual ambience from AMG, including electrically adjustable AMG sports seats in nappa leather and a 11,9 inch (approx. 30 cm) large multimedia touchscreen with MBUX infotainment.

The interior can of course be customized with different options Upholstery and Decorative elements in aluminum or carbon. Technically, the AMG GT 43 has at least one steel spring chassis equipped, with the option of adaptive Adjustable damping for sporty driving dynamics. The brakes on the front and rear axles are tailored to the performance of the GT 43 and there is the option of one active rear axle steering to install. Despite opting for a four-cylinder in an AMG GT, the GT 43 promises an exceptional driving experience, according to Mercedes. The starting price will be between 130.000 and 150.000 euros expected, making it an option for fans looking for a slightly different kind of luxury performance.
